Every game in the series is great and it's amazing how different each one is. The only one that feels derivative of its predecessors is GG Shinobi 2 but it's still a great game.

Gameplay is extremely shallow, the move set is shallow, enemy patterns are shallow, but it's hailed by casuals because "OMG SHIT GOES FAST AND IT'S LIKE MY SATURDAY MORNING CARTOONS!!". It's similar to Rondo of Blood, a game with excellent presentation so it seems awesome the first 5 mins to casuals who praise it even though in the case of RKA they never got past the train boss.Meanwhile Shinobi III is a true masterpiece, in which the presentation actually matches the gameplay, the move set actually leaves a lot of room for getting good and not just feeling like a badass but BE the badass. Never lump these two games together again.tl;dr Reddit Knight Adventure is peak poseur core and even SNES Sparkster is a better game (this is the point where casuals think I'm trolling because they can't comprehend gameplay depth over presentation).
