Just imagine for a second, Resident Evil 4 or Rayman 3 releasing and instead of being 6 hour campaigns that you beat an evening or a weekend, they last 15-25 hours.
And the moment you log in to your 2006 youtube or twitter website you encounter a horde of uploader accounts trolling viewers and lurkers by spoiling, lying about the campaign's plot or complain how Sony is too gay and muslim.

RE4 is longer than 6 hours on a first playthrough.

Nonsense OP. Nonsense thread.

RE4 is 16 hours 1st time
>>
RE4 is like 15-20 hours long, it's the longest RE besides 6.
>>
>>12625657
RE4 was too short and filled with QTE trash.

So 4 silent hills equals one wesident evil 4 crt time

I get the general point youre making OP. Older games respect your time more amd that is something I've grown to really value as I've gotten older.

This.

When I sit down to play a modern title, I know it'll take me weeks or months to finish it and I'll probably lose interest along the way, or won't be able to play for a while and I'll have to learn it from scratch in the middle of the campaign... with a retro title that's 30min long I know every time I sit down to play that I have a chance to conquer it, it's genuinely enticing to me.

>Retro was more fun because it had less baggage
PS2 was more fun because the games were "complete" on disc and both hardware and software didn't require an internet connection for any reason. I've been playing FFX recently on my PS2 for the first time (about 37 hours in) and the game is just jam-packed with hidden details and things to do. Apparently I could spend another 100+ hours trying to 100% the game, and by the looks of it it isn't repetitious busywork like what something modern like Final Fantasy Rebirth has you do either.

This. It's one thing to get caught in a conversation where other people are talking about something you haven't seen but clicking on a video titled "cock sucking simulator 2k25 plot explained" when you want to find out for yourself why you're sucking cock non stop is completely on you.

What makes a schizo make a pointless thread like this

Reasons I prefer retro games:
1. I don't have to aim at things.
When I play Doom or Dark Forces I can just generally look in the bad guy's direction and they die, I don't have to aim with a stupid second analog stick or mouse. If I play Metroid Prime I can just press the lock-on button and shoot the thing until it dies, I don't have to swing the camera up and down trying to pixel hunt the stupid enemies into my crosshair.

Never thought about this but aiming actually sucks, its not fun.
>>
If you were deep into forum culture that’s literally what happened

There's places it can be fun but it's usually not fun and PC gamers bragging about a mouse being able to accurately line up with a specific pixel faster misses the point. You want accuracy with a light gun but fuzzy logic when moving a camera around because it's more fun. It's why Halo won.

>casually mentions I have the 90000 series on the right (internal PSU) with a 128GB microSD memorycard to load games from, its plugged into an OSSC set to line2x with BoB deinterlacing.
