Exactly 25 years ago Super Mario Advance was released in America. What are your thoughts about this game?
>>12630120good kids game
>>12630120Doki Doki panic/SmB2 is inferior to any proper Mario game
>>12630120It was just what I needed!
>>12630120Is that a whole console game on a handheld device that fits into my pocket? This is the future!
>Oh, this is the same game from All-Stars. Huh. Well, it's still really fun.
>>12630120It's kind of wild how Nintendo made two popular handheld consoles in a row and refused to release a proper original Mario game for either
>>12631413For the GB they made a lot of efforts for original games. The GBC taught them that they can make shitty rehashes and shitty ports and they'll print money anyway so why bother. The rest is history.
>>12630120I'm a collectathon fag so it's the best version of SMB2 for me. I was just disappointed when they didn't give the same treatment to SMB3.
>>12630120pretty cool actually
>>12631561But 3 got the e-levels which apparently are pretty well liked? I still haven't tried them but from screenshots I can see there's some cool stuff in them
>>12630120best version of mario 2I HATEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE the vertical scrolling
>>12632041They weren't bad but were pretty much one and done. Worth playing but nothing to lose your shit over. The collectables in SMB2 practically turned it into a whole new game.
>>12630120I liked the voices and the Birdo mech boss. That one pastel wheel thing felt pointless and ill-fitting though
>>12630169Pretty much the only thing "new" about it is speech and random bits of scaling, yes?
>>12633096They added a new boss (Robirdo) to replace one of the recycled boss fights from the original like >>12633079 said. There are also a few small level design adjustments like minor new secret areas. Otherwise yes, pretty much the same game.
