10/10 Game.
>>12630596I'd call the arcade version that. The one with the pod you sat in that had the two levers to control the pod. Maybe that's the 11/10 version.
>>12630596MOOODSIT SAYS DISPLAY ONLY AND HE PLAYED IT, GET HIM!!>>12630632My arcade had a fucked up lever, so you couldn't turn left near as well, lmao.Very cool game besides that, lol.
>>12630596My all time favorite n64 game. The feeling of speed is just... perfect.
>>12630632Emulatable?
>>12630596Isn't there a joke that the one racer in the movie who got blown up before even leaving the starting line is the best racer in this game?
This game justifies the existence of Episode I
>>12630756>Emulatable?Its meant to be playable with updated versions of Demul but I haven’t tried it myself
>>12630768Ben Quadinaros yeah, he's the only one that can achieve 1050mph while boosting afaik and has the longest boost in the game too.
Reminder that there's a cheatcode that unlocks dual controlls so you can use a N64 controller on each hand for REAL podracing
Dreamcast ver clears
>>12630768Yes, and he's also the final boss
>>12630596>racing gameGarbage
>>12630632I have the DC version and it’s pretty based
>>12630596>for diaplay onlyn64cucks like to watch.pc version is the best.
Play whatever version you like.So what's the hardest track in the game?
>>12630940grabvine gateway or fire mountain rally
>>12630596How easy is it to blow up, I loved this as a kid but I feel like that would annoy me now
this game was too easy.there should be a permadeath mode.
>>12631042>permadeath on the track with the rocks in the zero gravity tubes
Would you suck on Sebulba's pod?
>>12630596>10/10 GameNot on a fucking N64 lol
For me its Gasgano
>>12631329Based and fastpilled
>>12631042Which version did you play?
>>12630596Any game before modern (((AAA))) is a 10/10 game. Action 52 is better game than cinematic Sony bullshit like God of Woke.
>>12630810>>12630930Seeing how it apparently took 20 years to discover a way to unlock Jinn Reeso and Cy Yunga in the PC version, I wonder if they're somewhere in the DC version as well
>>12631171The PC version is fucked and there's a rock which sotflocks you if you crash into it.
The tracks are too long. It's too easy and somehow too hard at the same time. As long as you're in the lead, which is simple to achieve immediately at the start of the race, you'll stay in the lead until the end. However if you crash and someone overtakes you it becomes almost impossible to ever catch up.
>>12631710>Seeing how it apparently took 20 years to discover a way to unlock Jinn Reeso and Cy Yunga in the PC versionWhen and how?! I literally searched if there were mods to restore them 2 days ago and i didn't find anything.
>>12631595there are differences between versions?I played both the N64 and PC versions.
>>12631676lol God of Woke. That term is way over used but that application made me chuckle. I have zero connection to the series (played DMC and Rygar to get my fill of that genre back in the day) but has it really gone down that badly. Even tho I never played the ps2 games, I did hear they were super aimed at teens and young men w a lot of nudity in addition to the gore. I’m guessing the new ones have cut all that out and I’m also guessing the remakes are going to remove any of that. Might snag the ps2 games since they are so dirt cheap unless someone recommends the remasters for ps3, but even then, I’m sure they probably censored stuff.Back on topic, is this game really that good? I avoided it since pod racing in the movie bored me to death as an 8th grader when I saw episode 1 in theaters. I see people even outside VR still talking about this game all these years later (I know it just got a remaster or something so it’s back in the zeitgeist.
>>12632020PC version has better textures, better audio quality and music during the entire race (N64 only has music during the final lap) and FMV videos (every track has an introductory video of the planet you're racing on).It can be played at 60fps, this does bring up issues though, like unresponsive controls during Zero G tunnels (fixed in the modern console release by Aspyr), a few physics & collision issues and the Slide mechanics not working like intended (somehow this wasn't fixed on the aspyr port), you can use a tool to cap the framerate at least.>>12632167If you like sci-fi racers even if you don't care about star wars the game is excellent, it has a great sense of speed, great track design and for a 1999 game it still looks great. The difficulty is rather unbalanced (if you upgrade your podracer the CPU will never catch up with you but if you do a no upgrades run a single crash is enough to ruin the entire race) and some tracks can feel very long but i dont think it ruins rhe experience at all.
>>12630596>play through 3 entire fucking campaigns to unlock Sebulba>he sucksWhy would you do this game?
as a kid I never new about the boost mechanic. The game was so much more fun when I revisited it knowing you could do that
>>12631879Highlight Mars Guo and press right CTRL, N and K to unlock Jinn Reeso, and highlight Bullseye Navoir and press left CTRL, C and Y to unlock Cy Yunga
>>12630940The jungle planet where Anakin is the champion and the final Tatooine race were the hardest for me, I used Mars Guo with no upgrades.
>>12632951Sebulba's the one with the hidden flamethrower you can use to destroy other racers. Can't let the players literally nuke the competition that easily.
