Streets of Rage 1 feels kinda liminal to me in that you go to a lot of places that would normally be populated but aren't, largely because it's at night but also because of all the recent crime/violence. Streets of Rage 2 as well but not as much because the enemies are sometimes hanging out before engaging with you so it feels like the area is populated. Maybe using a beat em up is cheating but consider the fact that the Final Fight games are anti-liminal.
