I played Turok 2 to death but struggled with it so much. It's good in my memory but any time I think about playing it again there's a pain response and I don't want to subject myself to the multiple hours between save points and cryptic maps, and I would never recommend it to someone else as a good game.

I remember buying Turok 2 for a couple bucks at a thrift store, playing it on and off for a summer, and having a great time. You’re gonna have a lot of fags in this thread saying muh controls and muh visuals are bad. They have no business being on this board.
PC ports are good but they make the games too easy. They have a higher difficulty setting but it just makes all the enemies bullet sponges which is actually more tedious that just playing on a trident controller.

oh I forgot. protip: on turok 2 and 3 go into the settings and turn hi-res mode off. its automatically enabled if you have an expansion pack but it kills the framerate. turn it off and the game runs just fine.

1 is really good, but I could see people thinking it's tedious. I liked the atmosphere of the game, but there is a noticeable lack of dinosaurs that you hunt. I think only one of the 4 bosses is a dinosaur.

The second game is neat, but man the levels are massive, teleporting labyrinths that feel like they go on forever. I still haven't beaten it. There are so many stages I just can't find where to go. I hated it coming to it right after Turok 1, but now after letting it settle, I think I love how the game feels. It's easy to lose yourself in the game.

On the other hand you would get things in the OG game one switch being tucked away behind the corner of an alleyway that already looked like somewhere you couldn't go. So chances were good you would sneak a peak, see absolutely nothing, and then just brush the place off as a dead end.

I watched a speed run of Turok 63 and the runner explained all the broken shit in that game and I get dizzy thinking about it. I don't remember if I owned it but I played the hell out of it as a kid. The game is also far larger than I remembered.

The weapons and death animations carry this game HARD. You just want to test every single death animation on every enemy until the end.
