Third worlders will say no, but only because their ancient government funded laptops can't run anything else. It "just werks" in the sense that it still features the same bugs and shortcomings from 2008 that people have just grown used to. Use Gopher64 (the successor to Simple64) or Mupen64Plus-Next if you have a PC from the last 10 years. Use Ares for the best possible experience, but only if you have a beefy CPU.

>>12633830Emulating N64 games is going to be dog shit regardless of the emulator due to the way 2D sprites are rendered so blurry amidst the cleaner looking polygonal textures. Disable the blurring and it just looks shit in a different way. It's the only system besides the Saturn where original hardware on a CRT is just objectively better and emulating feels much more obviously fake.

Project64 worked flawlessly on my shitty Acer laptop back in 2008 and it works flawlessly on my gaming pc nowI recommend using an older version to avoid pop ups and ads though
