>single-handedly creates the Action-RPG genre>filters sneszoomers because it refused to be a dumbed down rehash of zelda 1 with worse exploration, more storyfaggotry, and worse combat like a shit from the passt Easily top 5 oat
>>12634627Zelda 2 anon VS LTTP anonThread #5Will we finally find out which one of them mogs the other eternally? What do you think bros?
I like both games.
>>12634627Based opDon't forget the amazing OST one of the best in the serie
>>12634640That title screen music is so fucking good
>>12634637Its ok to say Zelda 2 is the best here. the redditors can't downvote you
>>12634637If you mean 1 and 2, I agree.
>>12634646I do prefer 2 slightly, it's one of my favorite games in the series, but I also think A Link to the Past is great.>>126346691 is nice too. I don't dislike any of the /vr/ Zeldas.
Severely underrated title who's subtleties are missed by the plebeian gamer and only appreciated by true patricians of 80s gaming.
>>12634627My favourite Zelda game ever
I guess ill try again to play this game since i have a nes now.
>>12634627>>single-handedly creates the Action-RPG genreDragons Lair II: Xanadu did that 2 years earlier though
>>12634627>>12634640>>12634646>>12634669>>12634705>>12634741Terminal contrarianism retardation. Same board that sucks off dogshit like Mother 1 and FF1 btw. Stick to your shitty jarpigs retards
>>12634741That’s not a picture of Zelda.
>b-b-b-buh Zelda 2 good because hard!!!The only thing Zelda 2tards can ever cling onto is the challenge because every other aspect of their game is putrid dogshit. But it's funny because even the "challenge" is almost entirely the obtuse progression and being underleveled. The combat is unforgiving with a moderately high skill floor but very low skill ceiling; it's extremely shallow once you learn the basics. There is only one of like four tactics that you will ever use for every given enemy in the game, and they all require very low execution skill, so combat becomes very formulaic. And since every combat encounter is such a segmented 1v1 with little consideration for other enemies or the environment, you will never have to deviate from those tactics and will rarely ever face unique and dynamic situations. Not to mention bosses are pushovers with very limited and predictable movesets, the magic system encourages you to use fairy magic to skip and completely bypass huge portions of levels, you can just jump right over and bypass most enemies in the game, the pogo jump is completely OP against any enemies it works against, your sword has incredibly short range and feels very unsatisfying to use, the hitboxes are really wonky and inconsistent, the final boss in the game really just sums up how incredibly laughable the combat system is where the optimal strategy is to sit in the corner and mash attack with your eyes closed, and it has basically no replay value as the combat is shallow and one-dimensional with no additional difficulty modes, Second Quest, builds, or playstyles
>>12634627I always liked how that sword looked. Had this toy as a small kid. It's a pretty basic figure, but I loved it. Zelda 2 was my first Zelda and one of my first games in general. I only ever got to play Zelda 1 back then when some neighborhood kids let us borrow it.
>>12634775>>12634771here she is, folks. spamming her debunked copypastas and mass-replyingdid mommy change your diaper after i made you piss your pants last thread, lil sneszoom?
>>12634775I enjoyed the exploration more than just the challenge. Finding the secrets and where to go next was fun.
>>12634771keep seething fag>>12634772wrong
>>12634757I actually played this game,it doesn't really qualify as an action game there is no dexterity skill
>>12634627W zelda 2 anon
>>12634627I am literally playing it on my snes right now
>>12634779Hyrule Warriors actually used that design for their interpretation of the sword. Which is extra special since Japan never got that box art.
>>12634627Zelda II is just the natural result of similar games in Japan at the time that were popular on Japan-only hardware like PC-88/98, mainly Falcom's Dragon Slayer series. Good game (especially for NES) but it was hardly revolutionary.
>>12634627>>single-handedly creates the Action-RPG genreBut that's completely false.
>>12634757You know what else did it earlier? The first fucking Zelda game that came out before Zelda II.
>>12634979>mainly Falcom's Dragon Slayer series. Nah if i remember correctly you don't swing your sword on Xanadu it's kinda like a proto Ys but with even less skill involved and on a grid systemZelda 2 is a true action game ,very arcadey in it's combat
>>12634987Zelda 1 don't have experience point,levels or mana meterIt's not a RPG
>>12634627>what if we made zelda all about combat>what if we also made sure the combat doesn't work and ruins the entire gameinb4 "just le jump attack"
>>12634947SC2 used it as well iirc
>>12634627It's not the first to do so but the first to actually play well. The others before it were bare bones braidead combat.
If the sword had better reach I would actually kinda liked Zelda 2
>>12634757Literally who? No one cares
>>12634627>LTTP storyfa**otryDid you find stuff like this engaging?
>>12635213SC2 has a Magical Sword, yes, but its design is based on the Zelda 1 manual.
>>12634775>the magic system encourages you to use fairy magic to skip and completely bypass huge portions of levelsYou're not playing it the way the original Apple II GS developers intended. Ydnbtg
