I wish people would stop shitting on 5th gen CGI, there's more good than bad
>>12639223fygoon?
For me it's Klonoa, looks fantastic
>>12639223Honestly seems to be a lost art at this point. People have dabbled with the software used during the time period, but they only seem interested in making either vaporware looking shit out of basic shapes or fnaf OCs. Certainly nothing on the same level as pic related.
Blizzard CGI during that period and for a bit after were always the best
>>12639621have you tried using this old software? even finding copies and installing it is a mission in itself. it's fucking junkt. 3Dfag
>>12639621What >>12640068 said. The effort it would take to get old 3D software up and running, then learning the ins and outs, and then finally publishing for the sake of making a homage outweighs the effort to simply not do that. Especially when there isn't any money or notoriety involved besides people in their 30s-50s who would go>Hey that's pretty cool but the originals aktschually looked like thistl;dr appreciate the past and move forward.
>>12640076>Making a homageIt wouldn't feel the same anyway
>>12640080Exactly. Hence,>besides people in their 30s-50s who would go>Hey that's pretty cool but the originals aktschually looked like thisor>it just doesn't feel the same but good job guy
There's plenty of good stuff, it was just limited by the budget and talent available. Every game had FMVs because they were the hot new thing and were almost a reward in and of themselves for finishing a level.
>>12640068>>12640076You live on the internet, it's not hard to google this shit.https://www.reddit.com/r/retrocgi/comments/wf571x/megathread_how_to_make_retro_cgi/Bryce 3D is one of the original rendering softwares from that era and it works fine on modern computers. Jet3D got a new recompile for W10/11. Cinema 4D also survived and its old 98/XP versions work out the box.Could've figured this out in an instant, instead you chose to sit here samefagging to yourself content with ignorance like the low IQ nigger that you are.
>>12640169Hey that's pretty cool but the originals aktschually looked like this.
