What are the best PS1 games from 1994-1995? It feels like these get overlooked often. I like Ridge Racer, Jumping Flash, and Wipeout.

I had all three and somehow 100%d Ridge Racer but I wouldn't put it on my list. Wipeout and Jumping Flash were and still are good while Ridge Racer is only memorable for the meme. Literally any racing game released after it destroys it.

I don't know why but Tekken 1 feels so hard to play even compared to Tekken 2, even though they're just about the same in terms of mechanics. At the time though that shit was kino.

It's crazy how in 1995 PSX was still just another conteder, kind of like Saturn and 3DO, but the very next year they dropped Resident Evil, Tomb Raider, Crash Bandicoot, Tekken 2 and Twisted Metal 2 and made it the leader of the generation.

Ridge Racer was memorable because there was nothing of this quality on consoles yet. Sega Rally dethroned it real quick though

I haven't played Arc the Lad yet but it seems fairly highly regarded so I'll give it a shot one of these days

Mid 95 release in Japan. it's actually pretty amazing it was released only 7 months after the first game though that could explain the shitty level design

Kileak sucks but the sequel(s) are good

I put so many hours into this game but haven't played it since like '99. I have a feeling it's aged like absolute dog shit and I don't want to ruin the memories. It was one of the PS1s killer apps though for sure.
