>1 week passed since translation dropped>0 discussion anywheredid it not live up to the hype?
vr doesn't play games and schizo mods shut down any discussion about games.
>>12642467>>12642484I see neither of you have tried it either.
>>12642467There was a thread here last week. >>12625236It died because no one gives a flying fuck about more Hillslop fanfiction or glorifying his patreon bullshit.
>>12642467I've been after Kowloon's Gate specifically for a long, long time, and I was eager to play this, but the whole translation kerfuffle really soured me on the game and I'm kind of not interested anymore. I don't really trust these troons to accurately translate Japanese games, and the fact that they need to type out long, meandering screeds seething about those darn dirty internet bullies after every new game drop kind of confirms that their priorities aren't in the right place. If the text isn't an accurate translation of the original – not a localization, a translation –then it's essentially the same as the game not being translated to me, and not worth my time. I think I'll probably just skip this one until AI gets better.
>>12642618Go back to banning people talking about games schizo.
>>12642467Mediocre game that got hyped up due to its obscurity and the current liminal space craze.
>>12642685It’s exactly the type of early 3D game that looks great in youtuber videos, but once the 'vibe' novelty wears off, you realize the game consists of just aimlessly wandering around endless hallways with no idea what you’re supposed to be doing and it gets boring fast.
I'm tired of modern day retro fan translations that only pick bad games because of lel vibes and then spend obscene hours on working on something 99 percent of people already rightfully figured out was trash back in the dayThen they turn around and complain about muh ai when someone gets tired of waiting for hoping for someone to actually help translate a semi worthy game and just hack themselves and use chatgpt. Basically hilltop is a fag and grifter.
>>12642467The gameplay is mega ass to the point where the cool aesthetic and story cant make up for itEspecially without a guide which at that point just watch a video on it
>>12642467I played through it last year and it was a long and exhausting game. Very cool ideas and vibes though. No real point trying to discuss anything on /vr/ since it's overrun by seething autists though.
>>12642782Kill yourself hilltop.
>>12642467>Kusoge's Gatemehit's a shame this slop recieved a fan translation but the actual good hidden gem (Langrisser 5) got a fucking AI slop trannyslation
>>12642467Is there a particular reason that Japanese media translators are the most insufferable faggots imaginable? This is too common to just be a coincidence.
>>12642831The AI translation of Lang 5 is probably more faithful than Kowloon's Gate. Hillflop took so many liberties with the script, I'd call it more of a paraphrase.
>>12642675???What are you even talking about????
>>12642784shut the fuck up auster tranny Smith nigger. go back to your chinkheld thread where you accuse everyone of being youtubers. schizo faggot.
>>12642916give me examples of these liberties
>>12642936He's going to post the loading screen messages from Racing Lagoon. It's one guy. He does this every time.
>>12642467>hilltopYeeaaaaaaah............ no.
>>12642936Feel free to feed this to your favorite AI/Language Learning Model and see what it has to say about the efforts of HillSludge and his band of jackass N5 retards.https://racing-lagoon.fandom.com/wiki/Loading_screen_poems
>>12642963Kek, >>12642951 called it. You got BTFO
all the comments on cdr are just glad it got translated while not even posting screenshots of the game lolthose retards (and (You)) dont even play games
what did he mean by this?
if you have been around retro gaming for 10+ years you kind of already knew that it wasn't the best game ever . I remember a guy who moved to Japan going through and playing a bunch of untranslated games and rating them and saying this one wasnt all what it was cracked up to be.
