What made the Xbox so incapable of popularizing a mascot?
It was 2001, mascots window of time had already closed. Ratchet was the only mascot of that gen that somewhat survived, both Jak and Sly perished. Blinx was a decision that was years too late. Didn't help that the game wasn't good, and that no one bought an xbox
>>12644539mogged by the superior hoovervania Luigi's Mansion the year before
Think Halo 1, Fable, and MorrowindThat was the whole aesthetic of the xbox
>>12644539Halo made it so it didn't need to, but don't worry thanks to a quarter sized blurb on the front of a magazine Blinx survived and lives rent free in the heads of Nintendo fanboys all over the world.
>>12644546>no one bought an xboxTrue, and yet it still outsold the GameCube. Really puts into perspective just what a gigantic flop that console was.
What this anon said >>12644546 and the fact that they chose a fucking cat as a mascot. Nobody but ugly lonely fags and little girls likes cats, especially back then, and particularly for the Xbox audience.
>>12644539It's like an equation, when a game is really good, it will become niche.
>>12644539It was made by Artoon, nuff said.
>>12644546>Didn't help that the game wasn't goodFuck off.
>>12644539I always assumed master chief was the token mascot of Xbox, halo was their bread and butter after all.
