Is Re4 the most perfect game ever created?I re-played it yesterday and I can say that it has zero bad or unnecessary moments, everything about it to me is perfect, discuss.
God, you must hate yourself to do this every day for so many years.
>>12646132It's pretty darn close, but the island is an obvious dip in quality.
so are we back with the resident evil spam huh
>>12646132I have only beaten re4 once after beating it I never wanted to olay it again. I didnt think it was bad either, still dont wanna play it ever again.
>>12646132>zero bad or unnecessary momentsNo, fuck the lake boat part
It doesn't give you the freedom a proper RE game should and that takes it away from being as great as it could be.
the terrible final boss prevents it from being perfect alone
only the Wii version
OP didn't even take the screenshot used to start this thread.
>>12646132I think by the halfway through the castle section you have already mastered the optimal gameplay loop and it starts to feel like the game is starting to become a slog. And I think everyone agrees because everyone adores the village segment but so many people take a break during the castle one. I'm not even sure why the gameplay feels less fun. Maybe the garradors, colmillos, and armaduras are too unthreatening, maybe it's the fact that enemies are shooting at you with crossbows, or maybe it is the fact that type-A plaga show up more rarely and everyone has helmets on. You mostly feel it during replays, but I get impatient in the castle on my first play through too. It's ultimately a little thing, but I feel like the gameplay stagnates a little and I lose all interest I had in exploring the map and using or upgrading my weapons. Thoughts?
>>12646806I don’t agree. The castles the peak of the game. You get the riot gun and broken butterfly there. You can upgrade your weapons. Maybe the Salazar statue part sucks. But a/e. And then you have U3, Krauser knife fight and regenerators on the island.
>>12646132it has pacing and balance issues that bring it back into orbit. I think you could make an argument for the abstract gameplay premise capcom came up with as being perfect but the campaign they built around it as real and flawed as anything else capcom ever put out..
>>12646863There's just too many environmental puzzles slowing you down in castle I think. In village you can constantly progress forward without hiccups, and even free roam a little once you get done killing Del Lago. Island had a lot of potential but the regenerators/maidens are much easier than garradors once you understand their gimmick, and the second half is pretty much just RE5 and doesn't bring anything new to the table except RPG guys and JJs which just slow down the gameplay like castle did and you can annihilate at this point with the amount of weapons you have by endgame anyway
>>12646806I remember getting bored of ganado encounters towards the end of the island, lazily spamming an upgraded shotgun into crowds and the game basically never punished me, took me to the end of the game.
>>12646904*end of the castle.
>>12646132Del Lago is definitely the worst part of the game hands down.
>>12647702In what way? Just because it is repetitive and the trees can fuck you up? It's not the most fun fight in the world, but it is iconic and creative.
>you pervert!
