Playing Croc for the first time, on PS1. I made it to the castle world and beat the miniboss on the balloons. It's a pretty decent game. I think it's the best controlling tank-style platformer.
>>12646152I played this game when I was a kid and thought it was a croc of shit back then. Completely forgotten when I got crash bandicoot. I even liked Glover more than this piece of shit back then.
>>12646158KERSPLAT
i like croc as well, i played it on pc when it was still pretty new
>>12646152The tank controls make the game, if you try to play with analog it's super shitty which is also why the PSX version of 2 is literally unplayable since it doesn't have tank controls unlike the PC version, and also why you see modern revisionists take like "I've known it sucked since I was a kid" Since the modern retard can't into tank controls.
>>12646220just need to learn to use the button to turn 180 degrees (shift on pc) and that you can strafe while in air to make corrections or like to jump onto a box directly from the side rather than turning towards it
do you guys hold space/jump when stomping on boxes? i almost never see others do that but i always do (makes you go through the box into the ground without being slowed down by the box)
I didn't like the "modern" control scheme in the remaster honestly. As far as movement goes it feels fine but they neglected to add any automatic camera movement to the game so you're just constantly babysitting the camera whenever you're moving. With tank controls the camera stays locked behind you and it just works better.
>>12646534there's a remaster?
Would you suck on croc's cock?
>>12646152>WAHEYYI played this game heaps as a kid, and at the time I never was able to collect a jigsaw piece or knew what they were. I must have been pretty retarded
its kinda weird that when you get used to doing the hover glitch, croc is even similar to yoshi
>>12646565Yes. It's good and has lots of dev materials and interviews. I hate the redone graphics, but luckily you can change back to the classic visuals with a button press.>>12647481That's such a fun glitch to do. I love that they kept it in the remaster.
>>12647257No, that's gay.
>>12646476I can hear this webm, I played croc a lot in 1999-2001.
>>12648201speaking of hearing it, i actually initially got a copy from a friend, that is, i installed it and played it without the CD. this game didn't have a cd check to play it, so the whole time i played this game as a kid i literally didn't know this game had music. all i had were the sound effects and the ambient sounds like birds chirping (the ambient sounds probably made me think nothing was missing)it's strange to me playing the game now with music, but i think it suits the game pretty well, the game certainly feel a bit more whimsical with its' music, lol.
As a kid (and still as an adult even) I used to really wonder about what was /out/ there in the background paintings and if I could ever find a way to get Croc to explore it. It was a really comfy experience. It blew my mind when you could do even a bit of that in Spyro when I played it for the first time the other year.Still love my Croc, probably play through it at least once every few years.
>>12646152oh hello, game that turned me off third person platformers as a whole.
>>12648451>>12646476>PC versioncringe
>>12648948Lmao why is that cringe
>>12649620it's a shoddy butchered port. color crystal icons don't spin, no echo in caves, different(worse) textures on some objects, no croc walking on the loading screen... it's not like the playstation version is difficult to emulate
>>12649652Works fine with the fan patch
>>12649668no it doesnt, it looks like SHIT
>>12648948well excuse me, i only played the pc version as a kid. sorry for having the wrong memories
