I like their consoles and games but there really is a certain type of Sega fan who cannot let go of the past and is absolutely obsessed with alternate timelines and "what if" scenarios for the company. It's all very boring.

I only recently learned SA2 sucks because they all knew Sega was dying and they downsized the team to the point where they only had enough staff to make a game that was more streamlined and way shittier than the first one. In spite of this they still put out a heroically decent effort. The final Sonic game released on a Sega platform. This was the real canon ending of Sonic.
