Why didn't American appreciate Ridge Racer?
it didn't have https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y1WlBBVPMJo
2006 e3 was probably the peak of vidya memes. has it really been 20 years?
>>12656145People don't want racing, they just want to collect cars, which is why Gran Turismo is so popular.
What do you mean?Everyone appreciated Ridge Racer. It's half the reason the PSX was a hit when it came out.
It was a Playstation launch title. Not everyone had one of those as soon as it came out, you know? Slow burn. I didn't have a Playstation then myself but I got to play it and I loved it. But you can imagine once the system reached critical mass and everyone owned one Ridge Racer from 1995 was not high on everyone's list. The sequels and stuff, well, there were a lot more racing games by that point so it's easy to get lost in the shuffle. It's not like now where the release of *not retro, censored* manages to be a massive important deal that everyone cares about.
>>12656145This man is Japanese, not American
>>12656145Because everyone was upset that they patented the mini-game during loading screen feature.
What was even the point of the psp, genuinely. What did sony expect, that they could just waltz into the portable gaming market which historically was completely dominated by Nintendo?
>>12656528>What was even the point of the pspSoul does not need a mechanical purpose to exist, you golem.
>>12656431>they patented the mini-game during loadingwhen there was plenty of prior artmutt patent officers are incompetent/corrupt scum
>>12656207>>12656145this is a dumb indian thread
>>12656528exactly, how dare they even try to compete with my precious nintendo
>>12656157>here's the gamecube you can play with your friends and your familythey also got dylan klebold as a translator
Not /vr/ but did ridge racer 6 and 7 flop? Why did they stop after 7?
>>12656528It sold 80mil anon. It scared nintendo enough the kill the gba early and throw the ds onto market
>>12656157Not fully retro but I'd say that the E3s between 2006 to 2010 had the best memes, with maybe Xbox's shitshow with the introduction of the Xbox One in 2013. No one will ever forget the shitshow that was 2008's Nintendo conference or ONE MIRRION TROOPS WAOW in 2010.>>12657395Arcade racing games as a whole died during the 7th gen. Like >>12656203 said, people don't like racing cool cars so much as collecting and driving cool cars.
