I hope they struck a deal with Riverhill soft, rather than this being a one-off since Riverhillsoft has a great collection of games from the 90s. Many adventure games, some 2D some 3D, and many set in America or Europe and many are Japan exclusives. They often made games that seem heavily influenced by Western culture and games, while mixing things up and also making a few anime style games like Refrain Love or adaptions of anime titles.

Just all around a very neat catalogue.

Many adventure games were text heavy, so publishers in the West balked at the idea of translating them, and thought they'd have too few sales for it to matter. So the result is an assload of games set in the west that are Japan only.

Overblood is completely bonkers. It's such a weird and obscure game, even for Japan. About as close as we're gonna get for an Alone in the Dark episode I'm afraid. Combat is awful, the levels are dead metal and cold, and there's few enemies. Good luck Arino-san!

Overblood is infamous in the early 00s because of how goofy and silly it is, especially the voice acting and character names. It actually came out after RE1, but both were developed at the same time. If they were smart, they should have cancelled what they had, and retooled the game after seeing RE1. Make the backgrounds 2D, give the main hero a proper gun, and maek the game faster paced.
