Hello /vr/I doomposted a couple days ago here accidentally (sorry mods), maybe someone remembers, so I thought I would share my fav retro game now. The last thread devolved into people discussing if doing meth is cool so I hope that won’t happen here. Anyone else into stronghold crusader?
>>12679324Yeah, love stronghold games. Perfect type of rts for someone like me who really loves base building and economy stuff.
>>12679339Me too. Only problem is when an attack fails it takes so long to build back up it can get a bit annoying sometimes. The definitive edition is really fun I love the beduin troops
>Stronghold crusaderIt's not like the original was very balanced but I'd expected them to fix it in Crusader and they never did. That was a disappointment. But then, Stronghold 2 and 3 were such horrendous abominations that everything before them still feels like a timeless masterpiece.
I played the demo of some Stronghold game back in the day and didn't get into it, but I really liked the arcade-style minigame they released to promote it. Some dude uploaded it here: https://stronghold.heavengames.com/downloads/showfile.php?fileid=5183Tip: Immediately press down once or twice in the early stages to speed things up. Yes, it gets a lot harder.
>>12680160Oh and apparently there was a sequel to the minigame, which you can get here: https://fireflyworlds.com/download/castle-attack-2/I think it's not as good though. It's fancier but the extra features mainly seem to slow the game down.
>>12679324The game is comfy
>>12679324I always liked the graphics. Those towers and things look very neat and satisfying
Okay well should we just talk about Resident Evil and Zelda again then?
>>12679954It can be annoying, but I think that makes it feel like the stakes are higher. Perhaps a bit more realistic, too: doing pretty much anything took a long time in the Middle Ages.
