Do you remember the first time you played it?
I remember seeing screenshots of "Zelda Gaiden" in magazines, and before I knew it, the game was out.
I remember my friend rented it and we played it, getting lost in Clock Town.
Then I got my copy some time later and got stuck hard before Snowhead Temple. I think I never figured I had to use the goron lullaby on the road there because I never figured the giant invisible goron was there.
It wasn't until years later that I restartes the game and 100%d it

I didn't have internet nor gaming magazines at the time, so i didn't even know of its existence. I got an n64 sometime in 98 or 99, having been primarily only playing games on pc. I bought a used copy of OoT at a local farmers market video store, only recognizing the name from playing links Awakening on my friends gameboy, so bought that basically blind and loved the shit out of it. Then sometime later once MM was out, at the same store, i saw there was now a second n64 zelda game and i was sold immediately on it, knowing nothing about its differences. I enjoyed exploring clocktown and seeing all the routines of the npcs. I remember feeling like a detective exploring around. I recall thinking the dungeons and bosses felt harder than oot. Overall i loved both of them.

There’s something very Pinocchio esque about it, I don’t know if it’s because of the transformations/the masks, or because of the way the adults treat Link like someone to be taken advantage of, or both.

glorified misery porn, with its only 'appeal' being that its "dark". milennials wouldnt shut up about it when it suddenly became trendy to obsess over it in the early 2010s all over fucking youtube and blogging sites. tendies thought they finally had something that made them feel "adult" and "mature" only to have skyward sword showing up to remind them of how they look to the masses. didnt stop them hogging the whole fucking internet though.
anyway, gameplay is really good, dungeons arent too bad. music is kind of shit though and the story feels really phoned in to lure in consolefags from Nintendo to encourage them to spout their drivel. Link's Awakening and Zelda II are leagues better than this overrated shit. Go play those instead.

Very based experience.
As a kid, starting with water temple, I used a magazine guide, and while I still enjoyed it, in retrospect it spoiled me of a lot of fun.
Thankfully, with Majora I never looked up for help (except for, I believe, the All-Night Mask, for some reason couldn't figure out how to get it, was the last one I got).
And definitely, MM in general is like a game that expects you to have played OoT. It's only 4 temples but they are very complex, I remember playing Woodfall temple for the first time and thinking it was definitely not anything like OoT's kid Link dungeons, and felt more like a mid/end game OoT dungeon. All 4 of them do. Stone Tower is one of the hardest dungeons in the series right? It's just so confusing and weird (love it!)

Yes, it was nuts to have a whole new Zelda adventure after putting like 150 hours into OoT. Clock Town was very impressive.

The golden cartridge with the holographic label was thee coolest shit imaginable.

I immediately got stuck in Clock town for a while as Deku.

I had a PC-only, 100% pirate friend who would always look down on my console games until he emulated OoT and became a fanatic.
When he saw my golden Majora's Mask holographic label cart he went "wow, I guess I get why owning original stuff can be nice".
This was 2003-ish

I'm over collecting. I'm fine with emulation, flashcarts, or modded systems.
But I do regret not buying MM and Pokemon Crystal before the prices became retarded.

People online act as if just because you own stuff that means you're a "collector".
I just never got rid of the stuff I got as a kid + some stuff I biught for really cheap during the early 2000s (when nobody cared about retro and things were almost free)
Thankfully Majora is a game I also kept, complete with the box manual and inserts, even the plastic wrap that holds the cart inside the box

All-Night Mask is tough to figure out.
>>
>>12681516
the all night mask is so difficult that I had to look it up after replaying the game as an adult having beaten in multiple times in the past. If you are playing really efficiently its easy to miss but if you take your time and redo cycles over and over a casual can stumble upon it.

I have a hard time believing this.

Hi namefag.
Not lying, he really said that, like he was surprised at how nifty the cart presentation was.
>>
It's sad that the shitposting Majora thread took off and the one actually wanting to talk about the game didn't

where's the recomp?
