I don't understand the rules for her block and it just seems random whether you can hit her. Sometimes when you start the fight you can immediately use the Flying Swallow to ground her, but other times you bounce right off her and she uses this opportunity to grab you. I can't say I've found the angle or timing makes any difference and it effectively seems like RNG. And every time I get her to 10% HP her AI seemingly decides to never be vulnerable ever again. What are you meant to do?
Yeah fuck it. I abused Ninpo to ground her when her HP was low. Retarded boss blighting an otherwise perfect game
>>12680026Its my favorite action game of all time but no way I can say it is perfect. The game does seem to have an issue with the flying swallow being able to properly hit at times when a boss dodges which really should not exist. Its not just Alma 2 but even the first Alma fight has this issue. And yes her fights do have some RNG at play. With that said though I still like both fights overall as well as the game itself. Its a masterpiece. Best in the genre to this day.
>>12682462I didn't like the first Alma fight either because the closest save point was too far away. It made retrying so much of a hassle that instead of practising, I just abused my consumables to tank her hits.Same thing with the final boss: I can tell it's a really awesome boss, but the game made it a complete pain to practise because retrying involves doing that lengthy platforming escape sequence each time. So I reloaded an earlier save to buy a bunch of healing items (right before the Emperor fight), which I then used to tank Murai's hits. I would've loved to master that boss but I'm not doing all that busywork before I can practise the fight again.

>>12679991yep id love to know how this fight was programmed because it definitely felt like a dice roll with that move. its been a long time since i played it but no other fight sticks out as having seemingly changing rules throughout the fight for certain moves.
