I was listening to an episode of Jeff Gestmanns one man talk radio stype podcasts and a listener sent a letter talking about Marathons art scandal and this lead him down a long meandering rant about that kind of art style appearing in the 90's with games like Wipeout.

He then proceeded to go on a long rant about how Wipeout was actually extremely influential in america in terms of contributing of the spread of "jungle" and drum and bass music from the uk scene in the 1990's.

Are there any retro games you feel had a similar effect in your neck of the woods in some fashion? my school had the teachers bring in all the parents to ban the harry potter ps1 games because all the school bullies started talking with a fake british accent because thats how the slytherins would talk.
