I just saw they were remastering dynasty warriors 3 for the ps5. That’s a random game to get a remaster for especially since the series is consistently comes out. Is there something special about DW3 that it’s getting a remaster?

>>12684153I think for the PS2 it was a big deal and probably the most popular one for awhile until people proclaimed the series to be repetitive tedium and ultimately forgot all about DW3 over time. I never got along with the idea of the PS2 era games being repetitive though. They were great imo. DW3 had the biggest leap forward of the DW games from the last. So next to DW2 it was extremely impressive of an improvement. At least imo. I also liked DW2. Another thing about DW3 is that it had very iconic music, hilarious voice acting, and the stages were quite fun.But the best DW game was between DW4 and DW5. I lean towards DW5 but I get why others prefer DW4.
Even if arguably DW2 had done that in a more basic form, I'd say DW3 is what established the series on the PS2. 4 and 5, as well as SW and WO are still evidently built on its foundations.It was also their best selling DW I think? Not sure, but I heard that.As for the game itself, idk, I like it for what it is, but it does have some rough spots.

Kind of wish we had now tho, the trailer looks good. It does feel like these games would get old fast tho but maybe once your into it there is a lot to offer idk.

It's pretty much the only game I'm looking forward to. I had hundreds of hours on DW3+XL just taking on the top difficulties with the different characters and trying to get better weapons and items to drop. This is the only game that Fu Xi and Nu Wa appeared like this. The Orochi games brought them back, but these costumes have never been seen again

In the west it's called Dynasty Warriors. Now were this gets messy is that In Japan DW2 is actually called Shin Sangokumusou while the west kept the DW brand going. So the western numbers are actually 1 head of the Japanese versions. So technically Dynasty Warriors 2 is in fact the real Dynasty Warriors 1.
My younger brother and I put an ungodly amount of hours into DW3. We'd play every night after school, maxing every character.I was so excited to see a remaster coming but it actually looks more like a remake. I liked DW3's simplicity so I'm pissed off to see shit like weapon fusion bring thrown in.
