What's your favorite Yuzo Koshiro soundtrack / individual song, /vr/ ?

For me it's Legacy of the Wizard / Dragonslayer 4

For me, it's WMMT2

Of all the links to the soundtrack, why link one with some cunt's self advertising logo on it? Feels kinda disrespectful in a thread thats supposed to be celebrating the musician, even if its a good pick.
That said, most of my actual favorites aren't retro, he's been pretty based throughout his whole career. I'd throw some some stuff like Go Straight and Dreamer but its well known how influenced his SoR2 OST was.

Some people actually appreciate composers who have careers as long and as consistent as his. Dude has a 40 year legacy and still puts out good shit, I'm sure you can say the same for whatever faggot decided his logo needs to take up half the video.

the worst of is the shitty stereo matrixing added to the mono original.

boring pick but I like Dreamer from Streets of Rage 2. Gave me chills the first time I heard it

I don't really mind the ugly ass logo but the quality on this guy's uploads is SHIT

When does it get good?

This is my favourite, https://youtu.be/cc3EaxtjkVs .

The one that sounds like All that She Wants

Immediately.
...but the lack of a map is painful. Plus the game just gives you no feedback whatsoever, which is a bit of a problem when you're expected to have a specific character with specific items equipped, just to progress through a specific area

I mean when does the soundtrack get good, because the first tune didn't really do it for me.

NTA but I mean thats how opinions work, anon. Its not going to hit for everyone, but for me at least its a soundtrack that holds up well with repetition in a game thats a huge maze. If your mindset is "But its not as good immediately as x!" you're probably going to hate most of the library on the system. Sometimes the best soundtracks are the ones that fit the games best.

Damn, good rec, never heard of this one but wish I had earlier.

I really like how aggressive and experimental Streets of Rage 3's soundtrack gets:

Ok, I found one from DS4 that I like
https://youtu.be/UHEppNSH6-E?t=545

The reason I asked is because DS4 seems to have a few cutesy kawaii tunes that tend to sound like ear rape.

I don't have a problem with the NES as a system, it has many great tunes. Usually from Konami, https://youtu.be/olxhTRuV8JM

Anyone actually prefer Mieko Ishikawa to Koshiro? Particularly during their time at Falcom.
Her music actually seems to have meaning rather than merely sound cool, https://youtu.be/-AdWvqB6VvI .

The very best ending theme.

Does anyone know the extent to which Koshiro Yuzo worked on the Ys soundtracks? Hes credited with Ishikawa Meiko but I would wager she was the brains behind the operation since she was the true Falcom music juggernaut at that time with the Eiyuu Densetsu, Popful Mail, and Brandish soundtracks too. Koshiro is credited first though so who knows, I do really love the first two Ys soundtracks.

For Ys I it's almost all Koshiro, for Ys II it's about half Ishikawa with the rest split between Koshiro and Hideya Nagata.

There is a google sheet called "Nihon Falcom (Sound Team J.D.K./jdk) Composer Breakdown Project" compiled by a bunch of redditors that tries to link individual composers to specific tunes. The spam filter won't let me post the link.

I found it, incredible collection of information. Its funny to learn that he composed my favorite track from that game in 20 minutes.
