I have played Ikaruga daily for the past week. This mere 'game' has chewed me up and made mince of my skills as a gamer.

>>12686863Don't worry, it's one of the harder shmups. Even on easy mode there's a lot of shmups easier than it. For a normal clear if it's your first shmup expect it to take 40-80 hours

I gave up after 12 hours or so on easy mode. I couldn't beat one part of level 5 I think. I could make it up to that point practically flawless, chaining combos without getting hit, but it was a wall for me. Became work to beat it so I gave up. Simple as.
>>12687036Shitposting aside ikaruga is actually super free. Even normal is pretty easy. There's like two parts in the whole game where it's possible to fail something you actually practiced and the sequences arent complex enough to take a long time to learn. It's basically an IQ test.

>>12686885Ikaruga is such that like 1/3rd of the game can be trivialized if you literally do nothing. It gets extremely mind-numbing because of this. The final boss being an extra lives check is like the only real roadblock.
