I don't get it. People call it legendary but it just seems kinda generic and bland from what I've played so far.
i like the first game better but i would give 2 a better review score. given that the world has talking dog people in it, the story is serious and filled with a lot of political intrigue and i think people like the dynamic between the main characters having actual struggle and not the normal trope of everyone just getting along and saving the world.

>>12687826By my adult standards, it's a subpar jrpg because it has meaningless random encounters that force you to waste time watching 'cool' animations. One of the very first encounters, it's a group of like 6 little piles of shit that you deal with the exact same way every time. I'm not doing it.
>>12688434For a game with so many party members the customization is bad. 90% of them are so weak there's no reason to play them unless you're doing a challenge run, and anytime you want to switch, you have to go to your castle and take off every item individually, then re-equip them to the new person. Chrono Cross did it better.

The first one's story and locations are so much better. Everything in 2 is so shallow in comparison, even the recycled plot points are poor copies. Also going 3D after it was a huge, ugly blunder.
