How can a pre order be sold out? Just make more
>>
They ran a limited time open pre-order window, to gauge demand.
They're only manufacturing enough to cover demand.

They'll end up having a leftover stock sale at some point though.

Also, you know, ROMs.
>>
>>12689937
Can one of you do me a favor and uploud the rom when its out?

Is this licensed by Nintendo?
Because if not I am reporting it.
>>
>>12690052
I don't think Nintendo even has the exclusive right\ to manufacture the physical NES cartridge and console anymore. It may even be public domain at this point.
>>
>>12690187
Pretty sure the Famicom patents are all expired. Not sure about the NES, though.

Is just to inflate price "muuhh game is sold in limited ammounts" then he resell it at 10x the price once it sold out through ebay simple as that.
Is not rocket science to figure out even ponzie did the same shit with paprium and his other games..

Like it or not, AVGN had some influence here
Fester's quest was a festering piece of shit that would've been forgotten...
James is clearly autistic, but his crude stimmy humor and spergathon randomness sparked interested in older games (and arguably still does, as gen-A's are starting to dive into retro games)

Pop quiz: which shitty SNES titles do you remember / have seen someone talk about it?
Here it goes:
1. The Brainies
2. Super Dany
3. Carrier Aces
4. Big Sky Trooper
5. Eek! The Cat
6. Super Widget
7. Lethal Enforcers (Lightgun trash)
8. Jammit! (Certified Hood Classic (tm))
9. Bill Laimbeer's Combat Basketball
10. Tin Star
11. Super Troll Islands (Free points)
12. Rocky Rodent (Bonus, not shitty, i like it.)
13. Ultra Seven (Hard)
14. Sutte Hakkun (Hard)
15. Whirlo (Very Hard)
16. Olivia's Mystery (Very Hard - Japslop)

If you know at least two of these, congratulations, you're more knowledgeable than 99% of normies.

Many titles covered by AVGN aren't bad, like Die Hard, Rambo, Tempest 2000, Attack of the Mutant Penguins, Paperboy, Home Alone (SNES-Only) and Street Fighter 2010

The definition of a shitty game has been muddled so much that it's hard to tell anymore since there's a mystique and respect for old titles.
Unless you're Bebe's Kid, it's easy to get away with choppy gameplay
>>
>>12689934

Well considering I acquired the gold cart that should have been delivered by now, but they delayed until next year, I suspect there isn't infinite capacity available given they have them fulfill what they allowed.
>>
>>12690305

Haven't fulfilled. Phonefag.

Didn't he started shitting on good games like Goonies II and Majora's Mask because Silverman took over his soul, I mean his scripts? Even the non AVGN videos still feel like it's Silverswine speaking.

I wish all the luck for those who tardwrangles rolfe, he seems so done now.
Last i've heard, they were using LLM's to write jokes.
Hey, at least he secured a lifelong easy cushy job, started a family with an autistic "cutie" and has a cult of hatewatchers and söybots...
Considering that millenials are starting to get wealthier, things are about to get nicer for him

Pic unrel, i wanted to post it but found no suitable context.

>How can a pre order be sold out?
because...and i'm going to break your brain here...but when you make physical copies of something, you only order a certain number of them. so when preorders exceed that, then...

well there you go
>>
>>12690009
I think the idea is that it's the Nerd directly facing off against a lot of the bullshit he complained about having to deal with in old games.

>James depicted with a full head of hair
Maybe true 20 years ago, but not anymore.
>How can a pre order be sold out? Just make more
I'm sure they will, but it takes time to manufacture x amount of copies and they only had so many for the launch date. That's why an infinite amount of pre-orders is impossible.
>>
>>12690009
>complains about bullshit level design and instant death obstacles/pits
>game is filled to the brim with those exact things
That's the point. His career is built around shitty video games, so why would his own video game be any other way?

>Is this licensed by Nintendo?
No NES game is licensed by Nintendo anymore, and its probably impossible to get them to license a game even if you really wanted them to.
>Because if not I am reporting it.
What's there to report? Every patent pertaining to the NES expired by around 2005 or so. I don't think it was even illegal to make unlicensed games prior to that since a number of companies did, but its not even a gray area anymore.
>>12690195
>Pretty sure the Famicom patents are all expired. Not sure about the NES, though.
Patents in the U.S. last 20 years. The NES came out in 1985 so do the math.

I know of Super Widget (good and child friendly easy but got boring at some point), Sutte Hakkun (its name is "sucks and blows" but it's exquisite nintendo puzzle kino), whirlo (a game held down by weird game design decisions but it's fun if you accept its weird controls and adapt) and olivia's mystery (one of the worst title screen themes i heard, bootleg production values, never got past the first level).
Heard of and looked quickly at rocky rodent (supposedly a good mascot game but the mascot looks like roadkill) and Tin Star (never played it) but didn't play those in any real way. Eek the cat was a turnoff from the name itself. I'm not sure if I know about Big Sky Trooper anything other than it's related to Area 88 (a sequel without the license) but I had fun with it, albeit i gave up on the snes version because it's too hard, so idk if it counts.

The rest are genuinely deep cuts, really good job on compiling these. My picks:
1. Pieces (or anything from that series on ps1)
2. Dashing Desperadoes (has a secret bros before hoes ending but only in 2p mode)
3. Druaga on the PCE
4. Monster Rancher Explorer
5. Mr Nutz 2 (first one is good too)
6. The Jetsons on SNES (the NES games are good too)
7. Knight Move FDS
8. Puzzle De Call GBA

>No NES game is licensed by Nintendo anymore
They had a NES-based (and later a SNES-based version) subscription service tied to a very sophisticated online gaming platform launched in 1991 (not long after the Sega megadrive modem which had downloadable games) and Nintendo (and the developers) maintained it all the way to a 2015 server shutdown... they wasted it as a horse race betting platform for japanese geriatrics (they did location tests for an English version in 1992 but stopped. They did some lightly gambling themed games for SNES and the last one was some DS minigames for mario games that were removed after european and south korean rating board guidelines changed in 2007)
>>
>>12690009
I think that's the joke...
