Am I retarded? How the fuck do you use the hammer?
>>12691767Check the manual.oh wait... emulatorfags don't have manuals... HAHAHAHAHAHAHHA!
>>12691767>BrandishTurboGrafxcant imagine playing this game without the mouse
https://www.videogamemanual.com/snes/Brandish%20(USA).pdf
>>12691787Emulating the mouse properly seemed annoying no? Plus this version has the voiced cutscenes... But yea the FM-towns version does seem like it would control much better.
This game is b r o k e n
>>12691789>snes versionthis game is two button, going into the menu and selecting the item doesn't do anything but let you place it somewhere in your inventory it seems... >>12691791might be correct idk guess I might have to play a diff version probably.
>>12691787it's really not that bad, I'd definitely argue in favor of pic related being a perfectly decent introduction to the series
>>12691789I figured it out, you gotta hold both A/B down to use items on this version. thanks anyways...
>>12691790I played the PC98 version and it really is a PC game. Its got a big inventory you can either click on or assign hotkeys on the numpad. Also drawing on the map with the mouse is one of the big selling points. Playing a console version is a big downgrade.
>>12691823Yea it does look like the more complete game gameplay wise but the turbogfx opening is better I think, plus it's way easier to emulate.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-xn1CiuV1x4
>>12691835>opening is better I thinkThe opening is basically the same except its now voice acted, the manual comes with like 20 pages of exposition already I dont need it re-read to me. Besides the opening is 1 minute and now you are stuck playing a much inferior game for 20 hours.>plus it's way easier to emulate.not any more complicated than any emulator, nekoproject has a libretro core. I have no idea if theres an english patch anywhere if thats your hangup.
>>12691835>plus it's way easier to emulateI never understood this statement. You download a disk image with the game and run it. It's the same as any other emulator. How is it harder?
>>12691767first you have to brandish it obviously
how do I play this on PC 98? I cant even get it to boot
>>12691806>beautiful blonde women in skimpy clothes on the coveri will now play your game.
>>12693234Install Gentoo
>>12693281ok but seriously tho, how do I do it? I wanna play brandish
>>12693296Have you tried turning it off then turning it back on again?
>>12693413I have like 12 different brandish roms, I’ve set it up, I’ve watched tutorials, I’ve tried the standalone emulator, I’ve tried retroarch, nothing works
>>12693234I use Retroarch (nekoproject kai) because I had problems with various games on the standalone emulator. In retroarch start the game by going to load content then loading disk 2 first. From here just follow the instructions on the screen but basically you are programming the user disk so press F12 to open the neko project kai menu, open the FDD drop down, then open the Brandish user disk on drive 2. After the disk formats you continue following the instructions on screen when is now load disk 1 on drive 1. drive 1 disk 1 drive 2 user disk.
>>12693234>>12693445you might have to fiddle with the core options and make sure your cpu speed is correct. You dont want to set it too high because abnormally speeding up the games make them harder. I dont remember if default is good for brandish but these are what my settings are right now.
>>12691767>Dogshit filter
>>12693445Much appreciated, I’ll try this when I get home. It kept saying [jap gibberish] 2 [more jap gibberish] or [no disk] when I’d load so maybe loading disc 2 first is the answer. Didn’t know about F12 or any of that, I figured the little tabs at the bottom of the splash screen corresponds to the function keys but saying load ”[Rom path]” didn’t do anything
>>12693512ok I got this far but loading disc 1 or 2 doesnt seem to help
>>12693636return key once the disk is in. I really hope you have an english rom because the game is going to be in japanese too.
>>12693643nope, its jp only. Im gonna try the AI translator thing. I hear the menu is at least in english
>>12691915>"I've never understood this sentiment">posts a grossly reductive statement framing something very complex as very easy
goddamn who fucking programmed this piece of shit, I cant even open the goddamn FDD menu or the mouse icon just slips left or right for some reaosn
>>12693431Delete system32
>>12691791>>12691798>>12691915>>12693234>>12693636>>12693673I still think this shit is straight up b r o k e n
>>12693445Is there any chance you can upload the rom you used? I don’t know if it’s the versions I’m using or how I set it up but it still won’t boot
>>12691767You stop playing that version, grab the PC98 version and click on the hammer
>>12694935I got it from the neokobe pack. Are you pressing enter when the disks are in like the text on the screen says?
>>12691806I am forever saddened they never remade the others
>>12695329That is some bizarre anatomy
>>12691767I don't know, I've never played this game. I can't help you
>>12695473It's anime, dad!
>>12695267Enter, return, I’m even clicking the tabs from the dropdown and half the time it doesn’t even register clicks >>12693673
>>12695763theres an emulated mouse in addition to your OS mouse, I think F11 toggles mouse capture that might help you. I believe you can also use the retroarch menu to swap disks but I found that was much more annoying than doing it with the dropdown menu.
>>12691769turns out you can emulate those toohttps://archive.org/details/kirklands_manual_labor_-_super_nintendo_-_usa_-_2k_version/3%20Ninjas%20Kick%20Back%20%28USA%29/
