Why are Nintendo's Player's Choice not as hated as Sony's Greatest Hits?

Maybe because that gold border looks fucking awesome, unlike this "graphic design is my passion"-tier shit.

They're not what they seem.

>green = money = sales
I guess that was the logic behind the giant lime green sidebar

Psx greatest hits aren't hated, they're just generally viewed as less valuable to collectors and the cover is ugly. Also a lot of cart fags didn't keep the case so it's less noticeable on a shelf next to a bunch of other grey recrangles.

I think it mostly comes down to an aesthetic thing, the gold just looks good and Nintendo knew it worked because of the Zelda packaging design, people loved them. So here instead of just feeling you're buying a cheap discount version, feels the opposite, a premium collector thing.

Nigga, Players choice was ssuch a neutered concept, there were games that sold 1 million and were excluded from this tsupid label, such as the Street Fighter games, Mortal Kombat 2, Killer Instinct, really it was just the games nintendo wanted to re-release because they didnt bother to add cult classics.

Thats were Sony beat them, with Greatest Hits not only they included games that sold half million and 1 million units, they even re-printed rare games that got positive word of mouth and previously only got putrid limited releases (SotN for example, almost all relases you used to saw in the wild in the 2000s were the GH green label, good luck finding an original 97 print black label).

If anything Majesco covered Nintendo just a tiny little by reprinting more obscure choices that nintendo left out like Goof Troop, Aladdin, Super Bomberman 2, TMNT IV, they also reprinted Megaman X1, Super Castlevania IV and the original Street Fighter II The World Warrior (but who wanted that version at that point?), unfortunely those had the terrible cheap ''assembled in mexico'' labels, and also most of the rest of the games were mediocre shit like AAH Real Monsters!, Scooby Doo Mistery and Tom and Jerry, yeah...........

But for some strange reason they also re-printed Super Godzilla which original US 1994 Toho print was rare as fuck, i have a beat up Majesco cart tough (pic related), really out of the 48 titles they re-printed only like 18 to 20 decent to okay.
