Why has this platformer never been renewed? I loved playing this series on NES. The SNES remake was terrible.

Super Adventure Island 1 is super comfy, but if you want something more like Adventure Island IV, play Super Adventure Island II
Because it's repetitive tedious slop brutally mogged by the franchise it copied, Wonder Boy.

>>12694353Super Adventure Island II was cool and pretty but still too unpolished for its 1994 release. It felt like Hudson was still getting its feet wet with supporting the SNES after spending so much time pumping out PC Engine exclusives like there's no tomorrow. Their later games are much better.

Then Konami stopped making games altogether for a long time because gambling machines were more profitable. Recently passed laws closing the loopholes on gambling has caused Konami to dabble in making video games again so it's possible they'll make a new Adventure Island game but still unlikely
