Man I miss old /vr/ that actually seemed to like video games >ot for half an hour (or watch someone playng it) then never talk about it ever againFake history when a new game got fan translated we used to have multiple threads about it hitting max reply count.
Just because you hate fan translations or video games doesn't mean you can accuse literally everything of being ai especially when the patch itself is called a localization more than anything (which aibros hate)
I already played that game years ago but I'm glad it finally has a translation; hopefully it's better than AI.
>the one and only thing unofficial translations truly had over official ones was lack of deadlines to get it all right to resemble professional work>impatient unskilled online kids missed the point because they grew up on modern adhd internet and blew the only thing that made unofficial translations any good
>>12703342>the one and only thing unofficial translations truly had over official ones was lack of deadlines to get it all right to resemble professional workYou're having a massive case of headcanon. Literally was never true from the oldest days of video game translations. The whole "professional" aspect only started recently
>>12703353At least back then they got shit for releasing "functionally complete" crap as "1.0" and were more honest when it was a 0.X betatest/proof instead of inflating version numbers to string their favorite streamers or whatever along.

One week ago, the original translation team moved from their old repositoryhttps://github.com/Dickdebonair/Brightis-fan-translationto a GitHub Organizationhttps://github.com/Brightis-TranslationThe new organization has repos with commits as new as two days ago. They seemingly just got back to continuing development after a year long hiatus. This new translation, which uses the old version of the original one as a base, had it's initial commit 16 hours ago. The original team coming back from their hiatus and this new guy finishing development happened within a one week span, seemingly by pure coincidence. If you aren't happy with the quality of this patch, there's probably going to be another one within the next few months that you can play instead.

The OP of this thread, the same poster who has made a dozen "anti translations" threads and who keeps samefagging to keep bumping them and who sometimes makes a new thread shortly after the first one dies. All because he's conflating translations and trans people; he thinks that by shitting on fan translated video games, but also games that are candidates for translations, by extension it's like shitting on trans people. The pattern is really obvious, all you have to do is search those threads for words like "trannies" or "troons" (he didn't even try to hide it this time it's right in the OP).The problems is that: one, the idea that all translators are trans people only exists in his head; and two, he makes it so fucking obvious that nobody actually believes there is an army of people on /vr/ all against translations. At best from times to times there is an unbeknownst tourist asking him form for a source on the 'fact' that "the translator is a tranny", to which he never answers; before continuing to make comments like "hang all trannylators" a few posts down.

For the lack of a better analogy, it's fan translators drunk on the cool-aid of open source, meeting the cold hard reality of indian ethics mixed with ai bros doing the equivalent of "i fixed your drawing! Now with niggers" where snipers insist on using *the other team's* wip work (not honorable snipes like those for aeon genesis twenty-year old projects which were new projects with a new team's own efforts) and parade it as their own or as a finished release, and milk the ensuing original team's tears to further kick them down.As far as the player is concerned the actual patch (according to their own words) is a vietnamese pokemon grade slop job where incomplete sentences are inserted in the original space, but now thanks to ai any sentences that don't make sense are reworded to something else so that you don't notice what you're missing on. The ai marketing brigade will take care of the rest and call this the apex of perfection and the nec plus ultra of translations. No one on the snipe's team speaks a lick of Japanese as well, but they will consider it a virtue as the nigger parable says "ain't nobody got time for that".As for whether the actual translation for additional text is actual AI, that's still unclear.Anyone who open-sources their work and tools before an actual release, and this includes non-promoted personal github accounts (cyberstalking and dramawhoring is the point after all) over GPL and open source honestly had it coming.
>>12704950>Grandia Digitial MuseumHe used the tools and references published by Trekkies (published for others to use) and nothing elseYou can't just sit on a translation for years or even more than a decade at times, publish tools and help documents on how to translate the game, and then complain when someone else comes in to use those tools and do the work.Though I understand that the quality of the work in some cases can be questionned (not Princess Crown though, that was a good one); but to be fair the Grandia Digital Museum release was alpha and the guy said as much, calling things like his HUD work janky (before you, I mean, Trekkies who also happen to post anonymously on /vr/) jumped on that point to shit on him.

Awesome. This game is notable because it was one of the last made by the guys at Quintet. The guy who ran the company and created this, ActRaiser, Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma etc is so intriguing to me. He had such a unique style yet completely disappeared in the late 2000s. That's why Terranigma and Illusion of Gaia and their other games have never been rereleased, they literally cannot find him to sign off on them. Other devs that worked on it have tried and can't. It was rumored on places like 2ch that he had partnered with another guy to run a credit card processer service called Kasai that just folded and disappeared overnight and kept many customers funds. There's an interview with on dev that said he had heard he got arrested at some point. But nothing concrete and no one's been able to find him since. Apparently there's a thing in Japan that people just move away and restart their lives to avoid shame or failure and people generally respect that. Who knows where he ended up. I am sure he's gotta be aware of the fan bases for his games though. I hope he comes back one day.
>>12705817Tomoyoshi Miyazaki. He did the first 2 Ys games too before leaving to found Quintet.
>>12705817Yeah, there's a whole industry around helping people disappear actually. Someone will just silently get ready to run away while their significant other is taking a shower, never to be heard from again. It's beyond messed up. Japs take ghosting to a whole new level.
>>12705826Okay calling it a entire industry might be overstating it a little but there are companies that specialize in it. Basically they treat that shit like witness protection.
>>12705826I wish he'd return but the implication that it might not just be shame but outright fraud involved seems like he probably never will. He had created some online Pachinko shit that you could pay to play and win money and Kasai was apparently the processor they made to handle the money side of it. Consensus seems to be he was just in over his head. I don't know but there are people here in the West and people who knew him in Japan that have tried to find him because there was quite the fan movement to get Terranigma re-released a few years ago (the artist who worked on it even did a Terranigma art exhibition in Japan and was pushing for a re-released) but nothing can be done without him legally and they just cannot find him. It's sad. Those games are so special and unique to me, the feel is just unlike any other games Ive played.
>>12705835They are special but when they made the jump to 3D (Granstream Saga, Brightis, some weird scifi-ish RPG I forget the name of) they lost a lot of the appeal of their 2D games for me.

>>12706051I doubt it. People would be aware of his death. People that knew him or worked with him said he simply doesn't want to be found and people who have tried haven't been able to. It's possible he left to start a new life to avoid the shame of Kasai failing and ripping people off (this isnt uncommon in Japan) and has since died in his new life I suppose.
>>12706057He'd only be 58 today. Probably alive but left the country or started a new life under a different name elsewhere in Japan, the practice of Jōhatsu or Evaporation is what it's called.
>>12706057I think this is somewhat likely due to the series of events after Quintet closed down. He tried several different ventures that all failed and went out of business, the final of which was the shady online Pachinko gambling site and the payment processing site tied to it that closed without warning and kept customers money with no explanation and he skipped town and hasn't been heard from since besides the former Quintet dev saying he had heard he got arrested at some point.

Then, when I was in middle school, it became possible to play games at home, so my family bought me a computer. They can't re-released or remake Terranigma or Illusion of Gaia or any of the other games without him signing off. That said, people that knew him don't seem to suspect he killed himself. Given the sudden collapse of his business ventures and potential debts, many observers in Japan and within gaming communities believe he executed a yonige (fleeing under the cover of night from creditors) or Johatsu (starting a new life somewhere else under a new name which is not uncommon there) and that he doesn't want to be found. That seems to be the consensus which tells me some of them probably know that for sure but won't confirm it.

>>12706047>It's almost guaranteed he is still into gaming and is aware of the following of his games/that campaign to get Terranigma rereleased. You'd be surprised. Going off what I read in interviews, most Japanese devs from that era are completely oblivious to the following their games have, especially overseas. To them, they're just "that old project I worked on 30 years ago."
What's the difference between magic scrolls and learning spells from the witch?
>>12706196The following isn't just overseas, there was a campaign in Japan led by the artist from Terranigma to get it re-released and he ran an public art exhibition for the game showing original and new art in Tokyo. They've got quite the following there in addition to overseas. If he uses sites like 2chan/Futaba Channel (which he likely does as it's extremely popular there) he has to have stumbled over that. Once I finish Airs Adventure, I may well dip my toe into this trannylation.
>>12706080> Traveling and games are the same in that you set out somewhere with a purpose or goal. For instance, you journey to Nara to see the Great Buddha. Those special episodes that happen when you travel are published in people’s travel accounts. When I’m writing a scenario for a game I often use themThis is actually a very inspired and inspiring way to put it and describes what good adventure games are about really well. One thing I like to do when I make levels is to create a high point of view the player will reach at some point that gives a nice view of the level he's been exploring (or haven't explored yet) but with a new higher point of view. This is something directly inspired by my travels and hiking, like when I've been climbing a mountain for 3 hours and suddenly I find a point of view of the trail I took at the start but way down in the distance with the whole valley with it. I also find that the player finding these 'on his own' is much more impactful than if a camera pan does it for him at the start of the level like some games do.
>>12706319I definitely agree. He had a really inspired and sincere way of making games, it's hard to put into words but they definitely have a feel all their own that I don't get with a lot of other games. Just standing on the pier in the beginning of Illusion of Gaia with that amazing town theme playing looking out over the ocean as your hair blows in the wind and sea gulls fly overhead feels like you're about to embark on an adventure across a wide world. Nothing hits like the Quintet trilogy of Soul Blazer, Illusion of Gaia and Terranigma for me.
The oldschool developers were a different, better breed.

>>12705003"Open source" in this case is why a low-effort drama-hungry troll can just just steal a work in progress, release it under his name, and attack the original authors for all sorts of reasons (late, cranky, upset, didn't answer my messages demanding they help me snipe their release and take responsibility for my messes, still working at it after my release, and other deranged cyberstalking), and then use "open source" as a technicality why "i can just use someone else's work not only without saying thanks or basic human decency, but attacking him and his work using his work".There's no help that made it upstream, there's no knowledge that pushed the scene forward, there's no hope that the sniper will make original works when he runs out of projects to steal-snipe, there's no quality increase - if anything the sniper demands everyone accept lower quality slop as the new normalBy every reasonable metric, any self-respecting romhacker or fan translator should learn better than put out any stuff, tools, work in progress, help, hints or anything that feeds the machine unless they're ready for any low-iq random with no honor to be celebrated for stealing from them and using that e-celeb fame to attack them and make them regret they even considered translating stuff and helping others for free.In that context, open source no longer makes sense. Actual translators should shut up and give zero updates or hints or social media presence until they release the full playable thing, then they will only have to deal with leeches reselling their work or stealing credit for it, but at least the initial release won't be sabotaged.Major AI models aren't open source. >>12706406You sound mad.
>>12706408No one would put your open source and free software ideology over their own well-being.What happened is that translators in a certain subculture had a certain code of honor and used github as version control, and a convenient way to get new programmers to solve a particular text bug that mars the quality of the patch, with the intent of that work making it to the main release and the new team members being sane and helpful. What happens in those snipe-stalk-sabotage situations is that some random low iq asshole who can't even build the project (and has to aggressively attack the main author publicly to force him to answer him) insists that, nope, the project is good enough with that bug and myriads of untranslated jp text (retard and ai can just fill it with made up text that's butchered to fit the length instead of an actual solution), and will at the first chance release that patch, that shouldn't even be playtesting ready, as a "full release", slap his name, revel in attacking the original author for "holding a finished translation hostage", have some eceleb fame... then it turns out the release crashes halfways and isn't finished, just after the social media attention dies out, and then he turns his sight on the original team and milks drama for all its worth because that's far easier than answering for his mess or cleaning the patch up (he won't, if really cornered he will blame the original team for "not helping"), and he'll do his best to try and discourage the original team from finishing their work. From the original team's PoV, what happened is that someone cucked them using their very own work stolen from them instead of a honest original work. A months or year long project that ends with them tarred and feathered online. This exact scenario used to be considered a playtester leaking a buggy build to sabotage a project. This release would be either shunned or labeled a 0.01, not a 1.00, but the ai glazing does wonders to dress-up any pig.

>>12706406>The samefagging retard MissedLet me tell you a couple of stories. I made an improvement romhack for a game but I had done a mistake that I didn't realize I did and as a result it was shit. One week later someone made a better version without that mistake before I got to rectify it. That was okay; because even though nobody had even thought or talked about doing that thing before, at least I got the thing going and the end result, the game having that improvement romhack for everyone else to enjoy, is what matters the most. Two other times, I did two other romhacks and I specifically specified that anyone is free to do whatever the fuck they want with them as a base without asking (or thanking, I don't give a fuck). For the first romhack, it only led to a poor palswap. For the second romhack, there was something I had left out because it was outside of my area of my expertise; another romhack came along, used my work, and among other things filled the thing I had left out. I don't agree with some of the other things they did to the game but that's okay too and some players seem to be pleased.I do this because what matters it the end result, the game and the players; and because anyone doing romhacking of any sort is only able to do what he does because other people left tools and documentation for them to use in the first place, so it's only fair to give back in return no matter how low in scale by comparison with certain other things, for the media to continue to grow.[cont]
>>12706406>>12706431[cont][cont]Meanwhile, you sound like you care more about 'being first' or the credits than the game or the players. What you said (I'm still assuming you're Trekkies) to the guy with the AI project of Grandia Digital Museum is fucking low, you put the tools and refs in a way that other people can use them, the person does that and credits you, then you come along and say "Noooo! You're not allowed to use it!!". Also he specifically said that his work was alpha and that his HUD was shit and WIP, and you specifically used that HUD to shit on him and his project. This is beyond low.
>>12706425Which leads to questioning whether "open source" really helped them achieve their original goal or helped save their project. It didn't. In fact they would have been better off releasing the broken build themselves rather than take the trouble of setting up the github folder, that way they would at least get some thanks and have less retards to piggyback on their hard work play pretend authors and make an absolute mockery of them, their work, and any fans this game would have had (even rushed zero-day pokemon fan translations sniping the official localization had more quality and heart in them than this slop considered "the new normal for a 1.0 release in the ai age")If they want to snipe inactive projects or do ai translations or length-butchered slop they're free to... actually put in the work themselves. Why do they need the other team or the continuous drama? What do THEY provide as value over an OCR text hooker or the untranslated game or any other team? Anyone complaining about parasites should just gatekeep harder and have more self-respect.

I loved what happened with Shin Megami Tensei if when the og team acted like retards and the scene responded with multiple competing projects for the SNES but also the PS1 version, and shared translated scripts. The old team were mods in RHDN and were sabotaging approvals of improvement romhacks fixing their translations, or any game they indirectly worked on, and RHDN really abused their position with the Goemon 3 debacle. Those snipes, however, were their own hard work, not blatant theft of the old team's sloppy seconds mixed with a butchered (incomplete) MTL/AI script misrepresented as original work. While (you) are comfortable with others improving your work after it releases, I doubt you'll be as accommodating of retards rummaging through your unpublished drafts and publishing it in your stead and using that release to attack you and your ability to properly represent your own work. It's a parasite that's killing its host.> (I'm still assuming you're Trekkies) Take meds
Rom hackers/translators hoarding their work and taking a fucking decade to finish a project is retarded, so I support people stepping in and finishing the shit when it's possible.
>>12706427Code of honor protection goes both ways and is why people are comfortable sharing and helping without someone using that to scam or screw them over in an Actual Indian way. When there's no honor left, and the free good stuff can be used for nefarious reasons attacking the source of said free good stuff, then the free good stuff stops, one way or another. It can be the demoralization of trannylators that aibros wank about, or it can be romhackers getting wiser and stop doing free labor to fill their social media accounts with eceleb drama fuel and gatekeeping useful info to useful people rather than open source it to the enemy (most ai companies would agree).
>>12706468>Rom hackers/translators hoarding their work and taking a fucking decade to finish a project is retardedThe ones hoarding their stuff are doing just fine, the ones that put their tools or any wip drafts of their work are the ones getting tarred and feathered, and there's nothing preventing anyone from actually translating that ntsc-j romset on their own with their own effort without needing to steal someone's homework.
>>12703564I mean, it's not good, but as someone who's actually translated stuff I sympathize with the difficulty of it. People always say they want a "1-to-1" translation, but I guarantee that every translation you've read, even the ones you think are "true", still had to take some liberties somewhere. It's really a balancing act where you can fall on your face on either side. Get too "creative" and you end up with shit like this. Get too literal and everything sounds awkward and stilted. It doesn't help that Japanese and English is maybe one of the worst pair of major languages to try to translate between.

Sounds like a story you sell publicly in order to not alert police of his whereabouts. But if shit gets hot enough, they'll have him tracked in no time. Prefectural police isn't usually made up of the brightest guys, but if they send a word to Tokyo Metropolitan Police, he'll be found quicker than you think. Any use of an electronic device for contact, Starlink included, can be tracked with pinpoint accuracy nowadays. It's just authorities are not yet interested that much in finding him OR he's fucking dead and his Last Will plus Family wishes were to not make the fact of his death public and let his spirit find peace (according to Japanese beliefs).
>>12706519All my point was was that I sympathize with the person. As >>12703652 said, the text uses the kind of character speech to signify an old guy talking. The problem is 役割語 is usually signified with stuff like verb conjugation and pronoun choice, so the question becomes how do you signify in english that he's supposed to be speaking like a stereotypical old guy? Or do you just drop that aspect of the original text altogether?
>>12704476Anime is full of various, cute girls in plethora of stylizations and character traits. That's what actual sick people first goon to, then start experiencing AGP (autogynephilia) and want to become the girl that they desire. It's a somewhat complicated topic, but in majority of cases it's low-value (physical, intellectual, not necessarily financial) men obsessed with, funnily enough, anime & manga. This is where they enter typical attraction to opposite sex, but on the screen only phase. Why? Because they start finding outlets for their sexual and romantic attraction in the media they consume, which with time and mounting failures in social situations, inability to talk with a girl normally, become AGP. Those guys start entering the delusionary stage which lasts until right before the end of their life/detransitioning (if it's still possible). AGP is an obsession where you want your own body to resemble the one of the opposite sex and derive sexual pleasure from getting deeper into that rabbit hole. Then, two things can happen - by chance, the guy gets together with an actual woman, has sex, learns the ropes of living in a relationship. If that doesn't happen, they can stay in the AGP phase for years before finally deciding they're transitioning. It's truly the end for them. As at this point, they can only choose to detransition and live with the side effects, perhaps getting their fertility back or go off the deep end and undergo a Frankenstein-tier surgery which leaves them mutilated for life and naturally infertile. The decision to keep the cock or not doesn't have any bearing unless they plan to try and become a transpornstar (as opposed to a transporter). The truth reaches this population at some point, even after decades of struggling with their idiotic decision, and inevitably leads them to being heavily medicated and attempt/succeed suicide.

That team lied about a proofreading process happening, a lot of the fixes were just select lines from screenshots on social media where the patch was bashed rather than actual translators or japanese readers from the team, and they threw responsibility for fixing that mess at "other teams" and uploaded their tools (which in the worst case they will use as drama fuel to piggyback off any genuine retranslation effort, as ai patches often don't bother with text expanding)>Kowloon's GateThat was Hilltop collaborating with the old project to get it over the finish line, and it was done with heart (they even translated the audio-only non-Japanese dialogue, used to be "****" in the jp script)Another decent release lately is the third Fullmetal Alchemist PS2 game by the same team that did Death Note DS translations. It's really good for a licensed game and the fantranslation team is respectable.Square Enix also did a couple of Wii games but those are best having their cutscenes ripped and fansubbed like a regular filler anime episode, those two are made by the same animation team as FMA:B and they didn't hold back on quality at all, but the actual gameplay is meh
Honestly just fuck off with your translation drama. Nobody gives a fuck. You were too lazy to complete your project, someone else did. I'm playing the game and the translation is perfectly fine. And btw this game is absolutely fucking excellent, I haven't had this much fun in years.
>>12706526>Or do you just drop that aspect of the original text altogether?Yes, because it's untranslatable. If you can't translate something has no equivalent in English, don't. Don't just make up some bullshit because you want to – that isn't translation. You are not a writer. You are translator. Those two roles are not similar at all. This is a lot simpler than any troon wants it to be.If you absolutely must, include a translator's note somewhere like all the best translations do. That way, your audience will have all the information they need to understand the context.

I'll look forward to playing it with a realtime AI translator and we can have a lovely thread about it then.
>>12706883Right off my head I recall a scene from an early super famicom game where the characters speak in onomatopoeia to convey that they're visiting a brothel for some action, the context supports it, the scene doesn't make a lick of sense without it, any nip player would get it, but sticking to the actual words and meaning would make it nonsensical ... and in fact that's what the nonsensical official english translation did. Another one (phantasy star 4) just deleted the text box. Sticking with LLM output or literal translation loops quality back to these times.Untranslatable text is exactly where the translator should flex his writing muscles. A good writer has restraint, common sense, respect for others' writing, and a good sense of how many liberties should be taken, when, and how far. The existence of translators who love rewriting, and have little love for thr original text they're supposed "fans" of, doesn't invalidate the pursuit of adapting intent and context as a valid translation approach that benefits the reader.
Incredible on how the /v/ thread was more civilized than this thread and having fun playing the game.

>>12706929It was one guy spamming webms>Incredible on how
>>12706525We don't even know if he was actually charged with anything. When asked his former colleagues/family seem allude to him being alive and not wanting to be found rather than being dead. That's been the general consensus since the late 2000s. I don't believe he went and killed himself, I believe he skipped town to avoid creditors. The only mention of police being involved was a former colleague saying he heard he was investigated or arrested at some point. The waters seem to be intentionally muddied which also leads people to believe he fled. Not sure why you're so dead set on him being deceased. He may be but until we have something more concrete friends and observers in Japan and people in the West have settled on the most likely scenario being Jouhatsu to avoid creditors.
>>12706891if the translation is bad, then why doesn't the original team just finish theirs? if some b-movie slop house released their own knock off version of a big franchise movie before the official one came out, do the filmmakers just throw up their hands and cry? this attitude is so weird.
>>12706929Yeah this board is trash.>>12706931It isn't even AI, tranny. You're welcome to post proof btw.
>>12706925>Right off my head I recall a scene from an early super famicom game where the characters speak in onomatopoeia to convey that they're visiting a brothel for some action, the context supports it, the scene doesn't make a lick of sense without it, any nip player would get it, but sticking to the actual words and meaning would make it nonsensical ...You didn't provide a specific example so I can't address it, but I'm calling bullshit anyways because I can think of another one. Think of "puff puff" from Dragon Quest. That's a literal translation. It may seem strange or "nonsensical" at first, but they used it anyways and everyone SOMEHOW understood what it meant. Nothing is nonsensical if you do your job properly. Respect for the audience, and maybe they'll return the favor. (I speak hypothetically of course, that ship has long sailed.) Straight-up removing the text like in PS4 is also bad translation. The text was there. Translate it. >Untranslatable text is exactly where the translator should flex his writing muscles.Anon, you already fucked up in sentence one, because a translator is not a writer. You aren't writing. It isn't a creative position. The game has been written already. Make the words English, then edit them so they're correctly-structured. That's it. Don't add, don't remove. Don't alter. Translate. >doesn't invalidate the pursuit of adapting intent and context as a valid translation approach that benefits the reader. This is the exact mindset that leads to >>12703832 and >>12703564, because "adapting intent and context" is an entirely subjective process subject to the translator's whims and has nothing to do with the actual game's writing. You're not "adapting the feeling" or whatever bullshit phrasing these troons love to use, you're TRANSLATING THE TEXT. Your opinions on the story are irrelevant. Do your job properly. If you can't or you refuse to, you will be replaced by a machine, and everyone that matters will be satisfied.

>>12707014you're wrong. good translation always involves at least a small degree of creativity. a lot of stuff doesn't translate directly across language and cultures. but there is a difference between that and something overly transformative like a working designs translation.

>>12707190Other possible explanations: your input isn't exactly the same as mine, I put it all in on one line. Yours doesn't even offer the archaic/literary translation. Also, at the bottom of mine there's an "increase memory for more relevant answers" ad, i.e. I'm using the free model. Do you pay for ChatGPT?
>>12707197>>12707194Here it is, with the query formatted exactly in the same idiotic way that anon did it. (Which he hilariously dropped once called on, which further proves what a queer he is.) That's the point >I< was making, troon. >Your position is that I edited my image somehow or used the element inspector or something to change the text.As a matter of fact, yes it is. Even if the image wasn't edited, and it sure as fuck was in your original post because you cropped it, increased the size of the text, and added a screenshot so the original ChatGPT output could have said anything, you could have told ChatGPT to repeat that fan-translated line with a prompt. >What would prove to you that I didn't do that? You can't prove a negative, but it doesn't even matter, because you don't have to do a thing, fucker. Now that the text is there, I encourage every anon reading this to use ChatGPT or their own translation software of course to translate the line and post their results in this thread. Don't edit the images or anything, just translate the line yourself and see what it gives you. You're not getting that "how came the demons to read our every move?", I assure you of that. >>12707345Funny that you just kind of passed over it also knowing to separate the ワドー from the text, which was another reason you thought it was fake. What's your favorite moves? For me it's Edge Wind (ranged slash), Full Moon (spinning slash) and the 3 hit combo of slash > ecossaise > strotto. Edge Wind is perfect for those flying eyeball monsters and full moon takes care of bats/hornets pretty good esepcially since it has some invincibility frames.
>>12707713after playing a bit more i think its only taking damage, but i just realized that the amount your skill bonus increase depends on attack type, i’m getting +1 per hit with basics and +4 with the art button combos
>>12707874edge wind looks good i’m saving for it next quadrille sucks though bad range/hitboxusing mow down for my 2 sec charge good dmg and blish storm for art, not sure if i like it yet, has a knockback so the second swipe usually missesalso the cheap basic jump side slash is better than the one you start with imo
>Go thou with radianceNot sure if it's intended or not but that is a Bible quote. >>12707865Thanks, it's a Denon x6300h, sounds great especially now I'm playing most if not all of my 5th gen and back games on Superstation One with optical audio. >>12707890I just figured out that Step = T and Stop = A. I'm really wondering what a lot of the moves do different from each other. >>12703223Has the instruction book been translated? I don't know what i'm doing.

>>12707919what do you mean by step and stop? i thought A and T just represent the button so like A-T-T = square circle circle or whatever buttons u have it on.i think it’s preference of damage and the speed of the move, i get caught between parts of a combo sometimes so something to keep in mindalso been wondering if the pierce attacks might break past an enemies block
>>12707934hasn’t but google translate off your phone is pretty competent>>12707936i assume its based on their attack type like the fire lizard would be weak to the ice and the eyeballs would be weak to the fire cause they shoot ice balls

>>12708150Yeah I noticed that too but interestly enough you will get a point with edge wind if the actual swords hits them. It'd be nice if the menus told you how many points you get for each move.
>>12708154yeah noticed the blade connecting as well also found another use for the frost sword, or maybe all elemental swords.im on the coast with fish and slimes in water and when i use the frost sword it does very little damage, able to farm alot of skill points that way if you have the patience for iti assume it works the same with a fire sword on fire type enemies etc
