Blowing into your cartridges is bad.. b .. because it just IS, okay?!?
what...WHAT
>>12708275Dude it's bad because your shhpppit *spits in your face unintentionally as i say this* could end up in the cartridge and cause electrical damage
>>12708275Your breath is wet and germ-filled, it can get on the connectors and fuck them up. The moisture helps in the short term by bridging the connection, but over time it damages the cart. The correct thing to do is to clean the connectors with rubbing alcohol, then make sure the cartridge is seated properly.
>>12708275> Water > ElectronicsI think everybody knows that these two don't go together.
>>12708351>waterbreath is wind not water
>>12708275They went out of their way to tell you not to blow on them, on the back of every single game.
>>12708347I don't think that's enough, I find after three four weeks they get a little dirt on them and stop working again. I take all my games apart and scrub them with this, it permanently improves conductivity. I haven't had to clean a game in years.
>>12708275Learn it know it live it
>>12708362Deoxit is a good product, but it alone definitely isn't good for cleaning the edge connector on really dirty games.
>>12708275>Blowing into your cartridges is bad.. b .. because it just IS, okay?!?Its bad because your saliva corrodes the contacts. That's why. You should only ever clean them with alcohol and a cotton swab or soft rag. There are also cleaning kits, but frankly you don't need specialized stuff when its basically just that. Most of the time the problem was actually the connector pins in the original model NES getting bent over time due to the shitty design. People would often aggressively blow on their carts to try to solve it but it was actually the connectors failing. All the Nintendo service shops which used to repair that are now all long closed so you have to do the repairs yourself now, or else get the top model revision which avoids the problem to begin with.
I've done this for NES/SNES/N64/GEN and they work nearly first try. Please stop being a slob and take care of your console.
>>12708275moisture in the air will corrode the pins faster than the miniscule amount of water in saliva when you blow on them. I say keep giving your cartridges a blowjob. It works.
>>12708502I have games that I haven't cleaned in over seven years they all work first time every time.
Playstation and Saturn chads win again
>humor
>>12708549No, it will not. Minimizing the amount of moisture in your spit and exaggerating about the air moisture doesn't make it work like you want, or wins the argument for you. Stop being fat and stupid.
>>12708770>not blowing on your discsAnon...
>>12708275It's what I do right before I yell GAME CENTER CX!! and put the cart in though.
>>12708549this would only be true if you stored your games outside in florida.
>>12708275Back to /v/eddit shartjaktranny
>>12709245/qa/ won
>>12709257Won the battle, lost the war.
>>12709273Yeah I’m just kidding, I haven’t heard shit from /qa/ since they hijacked the site
But it is. Cartridges can corrode because of the moisture in your breath.
>>12710349so take the moisture out by smoking a shitton of weed until you get dry mouthor maybe just don't spit in the cartridge when you blow in them
I cup my mouth with my hand before blowing into a cartridge, to filter the spit out from my breath. Works every time. Also wojak OPs should be deleted on sight.
>>12708275Funny that a lot of the people who say it's bad at the same ones who replace the ZIF socket with aftermarket knockoffs that permanently damage cartridges.
>>12708362Snake oil. The only reason the pins don't make good contact is because of the ZIF socket design flaw, which can be corrected though there's no permanent fix outside of buying a toaster model.
>>12708770>tilts the ps1 until the disc loads
>>12708275It seems to me that everyone prefers feraljak. But my favorite jak will always be Cobson. How do /vr/ bros feel about this issue?
>>12712419I've had two malfunctions in seven years, can you claim the same?
>>12708897>Minimizing the amount of moisture in your spit>Minimizing the amount of moisture in your spit>Minimizing the amount of moisture in your spit
>>12712914Yes, you're making it sound like there's no spit there, and thanks for the self-portrait, it's uncanny.
>>12708770>he doesn't blow into his memory card
>>12708275Why did you even post something this retarded, fucking retard? They don't even say "because it just is". They HAVE a literal fucking explanation for it, it's that the moisture in your breath causes more long term corrosive harm to the connectors.Jesus, what is wrong with zoomer trash? Literal brainless turds.
>>12715278you look like the op's pic
>>12715278why doesn't the moisture in your air cause more long term corrosive harm to the connectors?
>>12708770>puts toothpaste on disc
>>12715278>what is wrong with zoomer trashzoomers weren't the ones blowing onto cartridges, unc
>>12708549Maybe if you live in a mud hut like some third worlder but most AMERICAN homes are insulated and running your HVAC naturally removes moisture from the air as part of it's cooling process stupid fuck
>>12715307It does if you leave them outside moron, do you not know how AC cooling works?
>>12717254>do you not know how AC cooling works?I don't speak burgerese
>>12717260So poor and stupid. I'm sorry your country hasn't discovered centralized heating and air conditioning yet, one day they'll figure it out.
