I recently played Ninja Gaiden Black after hearing it get hyped up my entire life as some masochistic game that caused most players to ragequit on the first level...and it's really not that hard:>Like half the enemies drop health>Healing items are everywhere>Shops are everywhere>Save stations are everywhere>You can comically extend your health bar>Holding L makes you practically invulnerable>Ninpo are overpowered>Flying Swallow is overpowered>Izuna Drop is overpowered>Dabilahro is overpowered>Most bosses can be shredded on your first tryI went in totally blind btw, knowing only that NGB is allegedly super hard. Before you say "Yeah well it was hard for a 3D game", let's look at 2D games then: I find Castlevania 1 on the NES to be extremely well-crafted and never unfair, yet millennials would have you think it cannot be comfortably beaten in an afternoon. And don't even get me started on the Mega Man series which, despite the reputation, is profoundly easier than just about any other popular NES game. Mega Man Zero in particular humiliates millennials, which I cannot for the life of me understand, because it's extremely obvious why the Zero series is easier than even the NES games.
>>12708525>I find Castlevania 1 on the NES to be extremely well-crafted and never unfair, yet millennials would have you think it cannot be comfortably beaten in an afternoonKeep in mind a lot of millennials have memories of playing Castlevania when they were literally 4 years old. When you're a little kid and a game like Contra kills you in one hit, you remember it (or the dam in TMNT) as super hard. As an adult, you realize how Contra is a game that's like 15 minutes and easy to memorize.
>>12708525You're a grown ass man, these games were difficult for 8-11 year olds just mashing buttons.I remember the blooper race in Mario sunshine being incredibly unfair when I was like 6 taking hours of retries to get it.As an adult it was literally so fucking easy it practically played itself
Makes me wonder, what games did OP struggle with growing up? Go back and try them now, the parts you remember as being tough probably aren't so bad now.
>>12708525>I recently played Ninja Gaiden BlackTry playing Ninja Gaiden on the NES. That's the game Millennials grew up playing. Xbox (even OG Xbox) is a Zoomer console which came out after most millennials had reached adulthood. This game you're talking about is something Zoomers would have grown up with, not Millennials. We grew up with OG Ninja Gaiden on the NES. Play that if you want to know what we went through. If you can beat it, great, but if not then don't say we had it easy.
>>1270858930 min generic slop game that spawns enemies on top of you so you die 400 times and make it 7 hours long Nes blowed so fucking hard, video games might as well have not started until the 4th gen
>>12708592No nes game is difficult, it's all about dying until you remember where the bullshit is going to come from.
>>12708589>Xbox (even OG Xbox) is a Zoomer console which came out after most millennials had reached adulthood. The 3D one came out in 2004, so more millennials were teenagers or younger at most when it came out.
>>12708525This is bait.
>>12708525>I find Castlevania 1 on the NES to be extremely well-crafted and never unfair, yet millennials would have you think it cannot be comfortably beaten in an afternoon. You got to Death, learned it, and beat it in one afternoon? On your first playthrough? Holy guide that tells you how to cheese it.
>>12708589NES Ninja Gaiden isn't that hard due to the infinite continues so you can continually go back and keep trying until you work out the pattern. It only gets hard when you reach stage 6 and it fucks with your expectations by making you restart from 6-1 if you run out of lives.
>>12708525Awakened AlmaThat is all
>>12708525its like dark souls in that the difficulty feels impossible to npcs who cant into pattern recognition. from their perspective all these enemies are just doing random shit and their mashing wont let them win.
>>12708525The game is meant to be player like 3+ times. Master ninja mode is what you're looking for
>>12708525its not millennials that are bad its just some shitty players, there's tons of shitters across every generation.-signed, a millennial who beat Ninja Gaiden with all the DLC back in 2004-2005 and again for the PS3 some 10 years ago.
>>12708581Halo 1, Half Life, Doom, Elder Scrolls.
>>12708578I love getting this feeling. Going back to old challenges and breaking them over my knee.
>>12708525Millennials only play movie games
>>12708652You can stunlock her with ninpo
>>12708525If you went in totally blind then how did you know your health bar was getting longer? I call bullshit.
>>12708525Now that you played normal, try hard modeit adds new enemies that address all your complaintslike actually
>>12708525After your practice run you went back and cleared it on a harder difficulty, right?
>>12709141>ninpo ydbtg
>>12708525>Are millennialsyou lost so fucking hard and you will never experience the golden age of gaming.
Someone convince me this post isn't bait. I refuse to believe retards like this exist.
>>12710040What's retarded about it? Millennials spoke about ragequitting on the first levle kek
>search up "games considered really difficult" or some such>find one from a certain time period>optional: actually play it>either way, now that you have your game, just make a thread proclaiming it to be easy, actually, and everyone else is a retarded zoomer hylic casual or whateverThere, now you too can have your thread with guaranteed replies
>>12708619>making you restart from 6-1 if you run out of lives. It doesn't even do that. It makes you restart from 6-1 if you die on either of the 3 final bosses, that's it. Running out of lives on 6-2 sends you to the start of 6-2. It's not a gauntlet, it's just particularly punishing bosses. The challenge mostly comes from how it's hard to learn the bosses when it takes half an hour between each attempt you get.Yes, I've beaten it.
>>12708525Congratulations you actually played the game which is unusual for Ninja Gaiden threads in here. I hope you enjoyed it. It's my favorite game of that generation.
>>12710437Honestly it's a mercy for bad players anyway, because it lets you bring the spin slash to the second phase and skip it just like you can the first phase, since it doesn't even make you refight the earlier phases.
>>12708525I ain't reading all of that because what I did read comes across as you lying to create bait instead. Who cares if you are some elitist gamer that didn't have trouble with the game. Its still a great game. Even the original version as the pic shows. Lets hope Microsoft finally gets NGB working on PC.
Kill everyone in this disgenous thread
>play original ng specifically so I can trivialize the whole game with intercept dlcI beat the game
>>12711376>lyingSo the game doesn't have ninpo?
>>12708734I wish I saved that Dark Souls webm, where whenever the dude did an action, all the enemies dodge left or right showing the ai script.
>>12708592filtered
>>12711810kill you for esl first
>>12708592blew*
I'm a bad player and that's ok :)
>>12713636Only if you try to get better. Accepting mediocrity in yourself is never ok.
I'm genuinely fucking terrible at games. I don't think there is a single 2D game I ever completed without savestates or cheats. Sometimes I struggle on easy too. Yes I'm a literal retard.
>>12713650Even Kirby?
>>12713650>I don't think there is a single 2D game I ever completed without savestates or cheats.you suck because you cheat. If instead of picking up a heavy barbell at the gym you cheated and just skipped that exercise of course you would never get stronger. When your brain knows it can just shut off and wait for the savestates and cheats to beat the game for it it will have no incentive to work hard and get better.
>>12712013It's not that broken if you don't already know the game pretty well, it's the pre-nerf flying swallow that really trivializes things.
Why can't we have decent discussion threads without the needy contrarianism and thirst for confrontation? I know most of you are fat and angry but come on.
>>12715330It was nerfed in Black? God how busted was it in the original 2004 version?
this game was hard when i was 13 on normal and now on hard (first time playing) it still kicks my ass. i love it to bits and wish NGB and its sequel NG2 would be on PC already. Fuck Smigma
>>12708525Oooohhhh look at this expert gamer over here.... Fuck off you lying poopyface fart mouthed stink breath PIZZA BUTT!
I wouldn't be surprised if the average zoomer gamer (not average zoomer, but gamer in particular) is indeed better at games than the average millennial gamer. One, they're younger, which yes, does help, and more importantly they've had MUCH greater access to games and gaming information during their formative years than the average millennial, not to mention greater chance for community approval and involvement. Zoomers grew up in a world where people streaming videogames is common entertainment, GDQ is a well known event, and when professional gaming is a semi-viable career path. Millennials grew up in a world where most skilled gameplay was on VHS tapes, speedrunning was an insanely niche hobby, and the average game fan was shitting themselves over that one SMB3 TAS video in the mid-2000s.
