>be one of the best games in the franchise>get a terrible demake>now everyone thinks RE3 was always shitIt didn't deserve this
>>12712596RE3 is my favorite and after hearing people say its shit I havent even tried the remake.Feels bad man. I tried to defend it over the years so they would do it proper justice with a remake but japs are fucking stupid apparently!
>>12712596>be one of the best games in the franchiseIsn't it considered one of the worst in the series?
>>12712614Is the best RE game.
>>12712629Great counter point! I'll ignore everything on the internet that suggests it was one of the worst received RE games.
>>12712634this is just a theory, a game theory, but I think not being able to play a guy from the start of the game may have skewed opinion on it.Some men don't wipe their ass because touching their asshole would be gay. Imagine them having no choice but to play a woman in a leather skirt. instant 0/10
>>12712614Uhhh, no? RE3 was widely praised back then
>>12712640Maybe Chris was just too cool. Jill is for rescuing and fucking, not playing as. Just like Rebecca.Imagine an MGS game where you play as Meryl instead of Snake. That's not what she's there for, ya know?
>>12712640>Some men don't wipe their ass because touching their asshole would be gayAnd these people should be publicly beheaded for being disgusting faggots.
>>12712614you are confusing it with Caca Shitonica
>>12712650>being disgusting faggotsThey can't be faggots because they refuse to touch buttholes.
>>12712646I can agree that MGS would be less cool I guess>>12712650 well at least be forced to learn to wash their self against their will
>>12712643I think you may be right in that the original PS1 release was much more well received than the remake. My mistake.
>>12712646Chrislop is shallow, bland and boring faggothe was overshadowed by a femoid in the first game and the next RE he starred in (RE5à was the slop that killed the series
>>12712669It may have been recieved okay at the time but over the decades public opinion has been lower on it than all other games. At least by the vocal majority.
>>12712614In a series that contains Code Veronica and RE:0, absolutely not.And I like both of those games.
>>12712614it's never been considered bad or really disliked. it's just inherently more derivative than the first 2 games, kind of an interquel so it's seen as a bit lesser. doesn't really help that re4 completely neutered the plot threads it alludes to.
>>12712640I'm sure meatheads back in the day complained at launch but I doubt that was an enduring line of thought.
>>12712596No worries pal, I always thought it was a weak entry.
>>12712596The detail is, the original resident evil 3 was created by expert developers chosen by their own merits. While the demake was created by people chosen only for gender quotas and diversity quotas.Thats the reason why the old original one feels so epic while the modern demake feels like trash.
>>12712596RE3 has always been shit no matter its form
>>12712596RE3make hate is forced reddit meme. It captures original RE3's spirit of being a standalone DLC asset flip rip off and I like both a lot
>>12715037agreed. can't really hate an AAA game where your character gets throat fucked and enjoys it
>>12715037you talk of forced reddit memes and then utter one in the same breath. a short fan service sequence doesn't equal asset flip. literally every screen outside the rpd is unique, you don't even go down the same streets as in re2.
>>12715053The core foundation of the game is the same as RE2, and that game made RE1 look ancient in comparison. It's giving low effort.
>>12715037Bull shit. I knew the game was soulless from the very beginning when they shove nemesis in your face in imthe intro, make you follow a scripted runaway scene and doesn't even let you go back to the crazy guy who locks himself in the shipping container
>>12715037>original spiritI like how the remake tried to throw boomers a bone and had Jill spout the "I'll give you STARS!" line, but it ended up horrible because she's about to be punched by Nemesis when she says it in the remake... and most people actually get punched and never hear the whole line. While in the original, she says it right near the end, about to deliver the final shot to Nemesis. That's why it became so iconic.
>>12715037I agree the hate is forced, but I don't think it captures the spirit of the original, and I'm not even sure that was the intention. None of the nu-REmakes really capture the spirit, they're their own things which is fine.
Nice fanfiction fag, RE3 was a mostly forgotten and overlooked entry in the series that never got much love even in it's time. There was a reason why it was never initially intended to be a mainline game but instead a spinoff because it feels less important compared to the debut and 2 and even Veronica which actually continued the story from 2.3 was always supposed to be a minor side story.Stop trying to rewrite history, barely anyone gave a shit about it pre remake and post remake and the same fate happened to the remake itself, no one gives a shit about it compared to RE1 and RE2 remakes. What it does have going for it though is nice replayability.
>>12712614It's my favorite RE after the original. Was never a fan of second title. Too easy, too much like RE1, no iconic villains like Wesker, etc. RE3 felt like an epic urban adventure in comparison.
>>12715172I remember that mayo guy did an interview with the director of 3 and he said it was always the third one in the trilogy debunking this rumor. He was also told that they were going back to raccoon city in 9 and he asked how that was possible and wondered if it was time travel because raccoon city was completely destroyed.
>>12715779How is it the 3rd one when the 2nd ends with Claire stating that it's not over and needs to look for her brother, Veronica directly follows that story of Claire and the return of Chris that was setup in 2 and return of Wesker. You could remove all the events of 3 and it would not have any effect on the story and the characters never appeared again. It's clearly a side story and was always meant to be early in development.
>>12715779>even one of the og directors is baffled about capcom's retconslmao
>>12715796Your head cannon is wrong. Nevermind that during cv Claire send an email to Leon to have him tell Chris to come rescue her. Sounds like she found him offscreen otherwise how would she know Leon could contact him? Hmmmmm, sound like you don't know jack shit about RE.
>>12715814What the hell are you talking about? In CV she is captured directly looking and following the trail Chris left.In RE3 Jill meets no one from the actual main story, other than in one of the endings it's hinted that Barry saves her with the helicopter but that's only in one of multiple endings. It's clear which one actually ties to the main story and characters and which one could be erased and mean nothing.
>>12712650Allahu Ackbar
nemesis is a side quest of 2. code veronica is the true sequel to 2. this is well-established and only on this board will retards cling to the wholecloth lie that nemesis is integral and cv is not. mental illness is impossible to win an argument with
>>12715967Ok but that still doesn't make CV good. CV is by far the worst of the survival horror RE games. 3 is a much more fun and better planned out game, although I think 1 and 2 are the best.
>>12715980that’s your opinion. i think 3 is short and weak and just an action game like slc for 2. cv is a masterpiece with deliberate pacing and scope that takes the ayer beyond 1 and 2 for an epic game. it’s vastly superior to 3, and rivals the first two games if not surpasses them entirely
Re3 came out in 99 on the Playstation. CV came out in 2000 on the dream cast. Re3 was always the third game, show me any quote anywhere of someone from Capcom saying that 3 was a rebrand and CV was the real 3rd game. I dare you, I double dog dare you.
>>12716006there are numerous quotes to find on this, newfaggot. cv was always the de facto 3 and was in development prior to nemesis
>>12715997That's your opinion. cv is far worst with terrible pacing.
>>12715997So much backtracking. Game is ugly as fuck. The knife is overpowered. It doesn't feel like a quality RE title like 1-3, feels rushed.
>>12716094you just want the game to be nonstop action and over in 4 hours. you don’t comprehend what pacing is for survival horror. >>12716095rushed, my ass. the game has the most complex storyline, puzzles, music, setting, bosses. it is almost double the length of 2. you’re just repeating talking points from retards who never touched the game
>>12716026>cv was always the de facto 3>Code Veronica has been Code Veronica from the beginning...The actual Biohazard 3 that got cancelled would've been Hunk on a ship; either way Jill's game is the one with the number '3' in the title, no matter how much you shit yourself about it
>>12716138retard, he is saying that cv was the real 3 and that what was 3 was not 3. why don’t you try reading more about it, you are dead wrong
>>12716138https://www.ign.com/articles/2009/03/11/ign-presents-the-history-of-resident-evil?page=3
>>12712596>OG >linear game with crappy combat >“Demake” gives you a better fighting chance, improves the crafting gameplay loop, and the only thing that’s poorly executed is kind of the NemesisI don’t know about the RE3 remake being bad, to be honest, I don’t like any of the Resident Evil-style tank-control games besides the first one and its remake. All of that made sense in the OG, which even by 1996 standards felt a bit dated. But RE 2 and 3 are just nonsensical and backwards.
>>12716108Quality over quantity anon.
>>12716142>why don’t you try reading more about itI have, you're the one who's parroting outdated shit from twenty years ago while trooncasing on an imageboard
>>12716179read>>12716148
>>12716174the quality of code veronica exceeds nemesis. you just want an action game like dino crisis 2 rather than slower paced horror
>>12716190i wouldnt really call CV "slower paced" but RE3 does give you way too much ammo, thats the only thing I dont like about it. I only beat RE3 once so I didnt even know its supposed to be played like an action game I thought it was just a way harder RE2.
>>12716259The discussion about Resident Evil’s difficulty baffles me because the combat in these games is bad. Yes, RE3 gives you a better fighting chance, but it’s all about baiting enemies. Capcom’s *Dino Crisis 2* was the first to focus on combat, and to do so, it required larger spaces, changes to the spawn system, and more item spawns. While Onimusha’s melee-based combat and parry abilities made the fighting more manageable, that also required enemies not to spawn right in your face, as Resident Evil usually did. RE4 is the first game in the series where the phrase “too much ammo” doesn’t sound ridiculous.
>>12716026Interviews from the time, not more retcons
>>12712869>While the demake was created by people chosen only for gender quotas and diversity quotas.Um, wasn't it made in Japan where there are no quotas because it is an American thing?
>>12716625all interviews and promotional material from the time called cv the true sequel to 2, what got you thinking this was a retcon. the retcon is vr lying to diminish cv and bolster nemesis
>>12716156>improves the crafting gameplay loopPlease carefully insert crafting up your ass. Crafting is overdone and fucking sucks.>better fighting chance?????????¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿
>>12716870Evade gives you more options for dealing with zombies.
>>12716860>THIS GAME WAS CORONATED, YOU HAVE TO LIKE IT
>>12712596Why can zombies talk in the remake?
>>12716883it’s more like vr screaming for years that you have to hate cofe veronica because it’s not a true sequel, which is a lie
>>12716449I dont think the combat in RE is "Bad". It's just kind of limited by its hardware and tank controls. Theres still nothing quite like exploding heads in RE3 to this day, they never really captured that same feeling in other RE games.Ill have to replay CV one day, im just going off memory that I really didn't enjoy it that much and it was kind of unmemorable.
RE3 remake wasn't that bad actually
>>12717140resident evil's combat is disappointing in the sense that the games never put much emphasis into what actually makes it interesting. designing a fight or flight survival scenario where you need to carefully weigh your positioning, choosing whether to fire, retreat, or juke. outside of few fleeting sections, usually in the early game, you can just slop your way through immediately firing and killing everything on sight.
>>12717150I didnt know that my first RE3 playthrough so I kept a hold of all my Ammo like it was RE1.I think if you appreciate that type of "fight or flight" scenario REmake 1 is the best game by far for this. Its the most hardcore survival horror they made. RE2 remake is a close second though, unless you play normal mode like a shitter.
>>12717147>nu japs>bug rape sceneReally makes you think
>>12717147Back to /v/eddit.
>>12712596The worst part to me is how RE2 Remake came out in 2019 and RE4 Remake came out in 2023 -- yet they fucking RUSHED the RE3 Remake out the door in 2020? They could have worked on it for another year and there still would have been equal 2-year gaps between each entry.
>>12712798Code Veronica mogs Zero hard. CV at least still has that same 90s Resident Evil vibe like the PS1 games did. Zero has you fighting giant insects over and over, and the big boss is some zesty nigga who looked like he was a rejected character design from Final Fantasy.
>>12712614>Isn't it considered one of the worst in the series?By who, everyone I've talked to who plays RE speaks highly of if not openly loves it and ranks it easily in there top three RE games. Are you an out of touch Capcom executives assistant to research for what fan want from resident evil? Because it's very clear that whoever is in charge at Capcom wants to rip off popular western steam games and just slap the name "Resident Evil" on it, like they did with 7, 8, &9.
>>12717951>everyone I've talked to who plays RE speaks highly of itSample size of your siblings doesn't really mean much.
I've been playing re3 nemesis (1999) a bit lately. It's good in some ways, but it really isn't resident evil in others and is very repetitive in the gameplay loop. It's like they took the mr x thing from re2, and decided to chuck everything about that game and make him the core of the story rather than just some silly NG+ gimmick. How many times do I need to see nemesis and fight or flee until this gets repetitive? Why didn't he just go away after the clock tower fight for a bit? Where is the classic RE gameplay formula of scavenging for ammo and dodging zombies in tight corners? Why was it replaced with the same basic fight scenario a dozen times with bland city streets where I pick them off like in an action game? Why are all the indoor meeting areas in uptown and downtown boring as fuck and just filler? Why do I even care about these umbrella merc dudes when they are clearly evil because umbrella is already established as evil? What is this game even about? Running into a scene, shooting the barrels with an assault rifle which you can pretty much blow the entire game through with, doing a retarded action duck/dodge when the zeds get close by holding down the fire button and turning, and then pumping a bunch of shotty shells into about 10 zeds? Oh and then later I have to run from nemmy for a couple of screens fairly aimlessly until he disappears for another pointless encounter?Plot is a C; Action is an A; RE formula is a B.This game should have been sent back to the drawing board
It actually feels kind of like re 0 to me. A good solid title, but also clearly not RE formula so it's not survival horror and thus far less interesting
The remake is genuinely awful
>>12718219>Where is the classic RE gameplay formula of scavenging for ammo and dodging zombies in tight corners?it's in the same place as it always is. the beginning of the game when you have weak weapons. you tiptoe around zombies for about a 1/4th of the game and then your arsenal eclipses them. in re3 I was mindful with zombies through basically to the train halfway, I probably could have been more agressive steam rolling them but that's easily true of 2 if not 1.nemesis felt fine as an occasional high intensity spike between objective areas. I guess the active choice segments might wear thin but he doesn't really chase you that often.
>>12718219Yeah thats another complaint about RE3 I have even though I think the game is probably the best or next to the best to learn how to do no death runs. The locations are seriously boring and honestly I get fucking lost in the beginning area in that loop once in a while. The strength of RE1 and RE2 is they were mapped out like a real large building. Like it was an extremely believable envionment that you could tell the devs paid close attention to detail so the rooms spacially made sense
>>12718226both are short side quests to better, more complete games
>>12718114Great argument, the biggest problem with CV apologist is that they are admitting to liking Steve.
