>What are your thoughts on Warioland II?

I've been playing Warioland II recently and having lots of fun with it. I decided to try it out since I enjoyed Pizza Tower, an indie game that was heavily inspired by it (and just so happens to be one of my favorite games ever).

I don't have any complaints as far as gameplay goes. One nitpick I have is that some sounds agitate my ears a bit, but I think that's more to do with the Game Boy itself rather than the actual game.

Ayy, I just started playing this yesterday. My first time with a Warioland game. I like that he's essentially immortal and only losing coins. I dig the greed aspect of it, collecting coins and looking for the treasure rooms. I really love using enemy attacks to create an alternate Wario form, like fat Wario, on-fire Wario, drunk? Wario, flat Wario, etc. My only complaint I would say is that bosses can remove you from their arena and you are required to traverse back to the boss room again. But it's not ruining the experience. I'm just not quite used to that.

lots of soul but the no death gameplay is a bit weird. some good tracks. I still prefer wario land 1.

This, pretty much. WL2 is a good game but 'Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3' is better. And I never played Wario Land 3 but I've never heard much praise for it. I guess it's like WL2 but turned metroidvania or some shit.

WL3 is kind of a puzzle game. But it's WL2 gameplay at heart.
You have to revisit levels several times, depending on your latest ability you unlocked.
The game nudges you quite well where you need to go next, but for 100% you need to be thorough.
Boss fights are really annoying imo, WL2 did them better. The backtracking is shit in both, but here I feel it's even worse.

Best Wario game, one of the best GBC games and cool draw

The really good thing about the Wario games on the gameboy is I never feel like I'm playing an incomplete experience. They're vivid full games that don't feel compromised in any way for just being on the gameboy which is nice. There's so much care and effort in them and they feel robust. Maybe I'm a schizo that can't express himself correctly.

I understand what you mean by them feeling complete. The best example I can give to support this is the addition of the higher jump (up + jump) and the ability to roll off slopes by pressing down on them (I'm pretty sure the latter is a Warioland II exclusive). They're such simple additions but they really add to the gameplay experience and flesh it out.
