>>12713970I think the Japanese (+Euro) soundtrack is more true to the game. Since every zone sort of has a common melody for each, but in the Japanese version the time variations stick with that common melody but remixes to the time. Past would be more heavier on the percussion, bad futures would be more industrial-electronic sounding, good futures have a softer-smoother feel to that basic melody. I'm not trained in any sort of musical lingo or whatever, so maybe I am not describing it right, but the point is there's more of a theme in the Japanese music every zone follows. I still like the North American versions of the songs, but the consistency of the Japanese version's music makes it more of the definitive way to experience the best of the franchise.
