What's your favorite 8-bit Sonic game? Which do you think is the worst?

1
Blast

Chaos>1>Triple Trouble>2

The GG Sonic 1 was actually the first Sonic game I ever played, so I admit some bias. But that's definitely my pick.
>worst
Sonic Labyrinth
>>
I would rather be molested by a parade of echidnas than play Sonic Labyrinth again.

If I was a youtuber, that would be "that game" I shit on at every opportunity, and make exaggerated faces at constantly.

8-bit Sonic 1 on the Master System was pretty good and I still have a soft spot for it but I didn't care much for 8-bit Sonic 2. I got a Mega Drive shortly after that so I never bothered to play any of the other 8-bit Sonic games.

If we're talking about the platforming ones only, the peak for me was Master System Sonic 2, with Game Gear Sonic 1 not far behind... both are peak Sonic for me, fast, but grounded for the most part, great level design that's not too big like Sonic 3 on Mega Drive, finding the Chaos Emeralds in the levels by exploring... just amazing. Sonic Blast's the worst one, by far.

1 is pretty good

Both 1 and 2 on the Master System were amazing, but I gotta give it to 2. As a kid I struggled with Aqua Lake so finally being able to get through it and be rewarded with Green Hill zone and it's amazing level theme was an amazing feeling.

Best: Sonic 1
Favorite: Sonic Chaos
Worst: Sonic Blast
I don't mind the fuckups made by the devs for Sonic 2. It's acceptable enough to play through the game.

It's kind of awesome (and adorable) that back then some freelance musician in his early 20s could decide to start an impromptu company with his mom and his sister, get handed a big hot IP, and in less than a year create a great game that people appreciate to this day.

Sonic 1 is the best.
Bridge Zone has a special vibe still unmatched by the rest of the franchise.
>>
Sonic 2 GG fucking suuuuucks.
Sonic Labyrinth is underrated, and I'm NOT joking.
Sonic Triple Trouble is the best.

I'm glad 2 still filters people to this day. 1 is the best, TT is my favorite, but anything other than Blast or Labyrinth is an acceptable answer.

Sadly youtubers don't do that kind of jokes anymore
