I played MGS before watching Eva so I’m more forgiving. The first two solid games are definitely Evangelion ripoffs, but the ego death and cyberpunk dystopia punchline of mgs2 resonates with me more than muh depression. Kojima shamelessly ripped it off but imo he did it a bit better so I don’t care.
