Let's talk about the truly first 3D console FPS. Yes, even before Goldeneye.

Let's talk instead about the truly first 3D console FPS.

>truly first 3D console FPS
That would be Powerslave
>>
>accidentally miss a key
>have to backtrack through the linear level AGAIN searching the fog for a single key

not a console tho

last I checked NES was one.

last I checked, you posted the C64 version

C64 had a console release.

last i checked, we were talking about 3d games, not consoles.

>no analog control
Doesn't count.

It was a hit, it was fun. Arguably could've been even bigger if it had come out closer to Jurassic Park. I think Dino-mania peaked around that time. I still remembered wearing out this weird VHS of two guys talking about dinosaurs and then one of them turned into a dinosaur.

Turok did a lot right, the explosive arrows were fun, the gameplay was decent. BTFO by Golden Eye of course, but it's hard being a launch title.
Arguably didn't need a Conan the Barbarian-esque character if they just going to lean in to the sci-fi setting. It maybe crossed too many disparate streams there. Just have a Grant and/or Jeff Goldblum type dude from Jurassic Park. IMHO
>>
It's great but of course it's before Goldeneye. Otherwise they would have been inspired to quickly remove that fucking look-spring
>>
>>12715230
and the answer is almost always some obscure shitty eurojank that nobody played

you mean descent?

C64 loaded cartridges. It's a console, zoom.

>op posts something that obviously will start an argument "the FIRST blah blah"

What the fuck...?!

Come on now.
Th real fully 3d first person game to come out on console was probably King's Field JP for the PS1, although it's not a shooter.

>NUMBERS AND TECHNICAL JARGON!
>>
>>12716024
What? That's from the manual, so they've already sold that copy of the game. The cover art, getting into a knife-fight with a raptor, is cool enough on its own to sell it to kids.
>>

Have you liked, never seen a video game from the 90's in your life? This is how they were marketed. Here is the DOS Powerslave talking about its trademarked "stacked sectors technology" (something inherent to the engine, and getting teleported from one sector to another below/above was also a thing in other Build games; this is actually even funnier if you know how janky Powerslave's implementation of this is but I'll spare you); and also its "dynamic light system". When you think dynamic lights you think of lighting in polygonal games, Powerslave's "dynamic light" consists of enemies' fireballs lighting the current sector they're in, the entire sector, which is also super jank.

But at least these are just embellished truths, this kind of marketing gets even better when what is written comes off as nonsense because the marketer had no idea WTF the devs were telling them about.
>>
Even if we're talking exclusively polygonal full 3D console FPS, like if we're being extremely picky, PO'ED was released before.

You sure about that? The only polygons I'm seeing are for the walls and floors, while the enemies & objects are 2D images placed in a 3D environment, ala Dark Forces.

maybe start living solely in the real world instead of on the internet then, retard.

Turok 1 was legit fun to explore. It's Turok 2 that got kinda bullshit with its mazes.

Almost like it's based on a comic book where that was the plot or something.

Dark Forces doesn't use polygons except for a few rare objects
