>slightly makes your controller vibrateDid boomers really give that much of a shit about controllers vibrating? Were gamers a bunch of fags shoving controllers up their asses?
>>12715216Honestly controller vibration feedback really came into its own with the dualshock.
It was a neat novelty and I felt like devs put more effort into it back then, like there were different degrees of rumbling (for example, subtle rumbling if it was just a small action, big ass rumbling if it was a big explosion)Nowadays all controllers and games have rumbling but it feels like it's always the same intensity, independently of the action happening in the game.>boomersIsn't this meme a bit outdated by now? I think memers now started using uncle
>>12715225You're better off not replying to this kind of garbage anon
the controller vibration when you reload in area 51 on the og xbox was cool thats the only time i remember really noticing it and going "oh thats kinda cool".
>>12715219>I felt like devs put more effort into it back then, like there were different degrees of rumblingDemonstrably untrue. Rumble features are much more nuanced today
>>12715248You should play more games from the time. They had very inventive uses with two motors. I appreciate the 64/dc rumble packs but apart from getting a better feel on crazy boosts in crazy taxi it's just a big rumble kicking in after explosions in most games. Not the case with dualshock games. MGS made a point of it, but it's a delight in other titles as well thanks to the two motors.
>>12715216it was neat at the time. nowadays i disable rumble because its just irritating and i dont care about le immersion anymore
>Oh, that's a neat gimmick i guessThey hyped it up too much and made it out to be a big deal. In OoT there were hints to hidden holes that you could only get with the rumble pack, they really wanted you to buy it.I don't really care much for rumble, but I do like how it adds weight to controllers like the DS4 in the right places.
>>12715216>Did boomers really give that much of a shit about controllers vibrating?Controllers are still vibrating to this day so why did you make this thread?
>>12715216It is a patented invention. Everyone wanted it back then everyone still wants it today. Nintendo played it safe, reduced their license cost, and sold it as a separate optional addon. It is just as good today as it was back then.
>>12715216Yes, this was the bee's knees when it was released with Starfox. It was awesome feeling the big explosions and subtle rumbles. Really elevated the experience.
>>12715347I got it with SF64, too. It was cool I guess, the neighbor kids came over to see what they had read about in magazines. But it didn't do anything for what I consider "immersion" like they wanted it to.
>>12715216It's fine. It gives me an excuse to play with the middle prong against my crotch.
Yes it was revolutionary and cool as fuck
>>12715216Laying it on our dicks, actually.
vibration is a neat thing to have! some games like MGS and Silent Hill 2/3 use vibration in a way that makes playing without it pretty lame.I also like when different guns/ or attacks have slightly different vibration intensities and durations, and I always appreciate a nice vibration when I get hit by an enemy I can't see.
I can't play Starfox without it.
>>12715216I have never once wanted or felt my gameplay was in any way enhanced or improved by any rumble vibration feedback on any controller, ever.t.genx
>>12715216I always disliked it. It added absolutely nothing to the experience except distraction.
>>12715225no thats hd rumble and was invented by nintendo in 2017, not 1996. nice try tendie
>>12715216>open settings >Vibration: Off ah yes time to game
>>12715310Not only that but one of the main reasons current controllers are so expensive is because of meme gimmick multi-rumble features that make zoomers soiface
>>12715784>picrela girl did this to me once in school. I had no idea what the fuck she wanted from me.
>>12715216The N64 rumble pack rumbles harder than any current 1st party controller.
>>12715216>playing game>gay ass cutscene come on>time for piss>c9ntroller on table>go piss>BBBBBBZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ MOTHERFUCKING JACK HAMMER ON LIVING ROOM
>>12715276I just assume you don’t play modern games if you think this. Try something like astrobot.
>>12717291It rumbles with those Duracell batteries
>>12717368>took a piss during a cutsceneI'm afraid you didn't beat the game
