How was it to be a kid at the peak of 90s Nintendo?

>>12715685I was a part of the PlayStation Nation, but a gameboy color was my eternal companion on roadtrips and such, so I can comment on that. There will never be another era of schoolyard magic like when pokemon red and blue dropped and then was followed up by Gold and Silver. Everything wasn’t data mined on day one yet, so there were so many secrets and rumors (pikablue, some bullshit called missingno, mew three, kanto is in gen 2), plus there was they hype of trading and battling through link cables. I still play the games on emulator to pass the time sometimes but you really can’t capture the magic and nostalgia of having all of your friends discover these games alongside you while in the background the anime and the TCG were also stirring up the hype. And as a side tangent- I absolutely despise how the TCG has turned into catering to gambling brained retards, but I digress. I know this post was mostly about pokemon but those were my strongest Nintendo memories.Quick trip down memory lane:https://youtu.be/gw9ZJ071P-o
>>12715705imagine actually doing this to a bus full of kids
>>12715685I just lived in the moment and was more obsessed with Legos than games. But the N64 was great.

>another thread made for data mining and AI training Seek help
>>12715685Was the AI niggerslop image really necessary?
>>12715685Fun. Lots to talk about on the playground. Good games to play during car rides.
>>12715685You mean how was it to be a kid during the peak of gaming.
>>12715705I member this commercial but somehow i had a weird idea in my head before i played it that pokemon was about capturing different video game characters like sonic and crash.
>>12715716I played vidya, but also liked legos a lot. I would go with my mom to kohls which i liked because they always had a huge lego section, but then one day i wandered next door to the EB games and saw all the fuck load of new and old games they had for sale for super cheap and thats when any pocket cash i had started immediately going towards only vidya stuff.
it was better to be a kid in peak Nintendo mania of the late 80's
>>12715685It was too good. Having that experience as a reference point really hammers into your brain how monumentally everything sucks nowadays
>>12715685I didn't really think about it, I think we all took it for granted. Plus I was obsessed about trying act "cool" and "old" in front of other kids and I saw Nintendo as kind of cringe and childish, similar to Barney or PowerRangers . I remember thinking Playstation 1 games and Dragon Ball Z was where it was really the fuck at and I regret that a ton because I missed out on Zelda OOT and other cool games. At least my grandma had mario 64 so I remember vividly playing that and NBA Hangtime a lot.
Uh, considering zoomers rip us off about every single thing, you tell me
>>12715685Always had eyes on our neighbors paper."It can't be better...we have goldneye and mario kart."It was in fact better.
>>12715781I don't think its ai actually.
>>12715685We had better tvs.
