I just finished replaying these on xbox. great games, halo 2 was even better than I remembered. One thing I had forgotten was how often CE had terrible framerate. So many times in that game where you enter an area with a bunch of covenant and you're down to single digit fps.

halo 1 campaign was great. never played much multiplayer because my friends didnt have an xbox. i found 2's campaign disappointing (didnt like the arbiter stuff and felt like they were trying to be too grandiose) however its online multiplayer was probably the most fun i ever had gaming. it was just the perfect storm of zero censorship, everyone having a headset, online gaming being new to normies, and the game being so damn fun. plus no in-game stats where people tried to maximize k/d ratio or anything like that.
Halo 2 was such a let down. Oh look another king of the hill section!
You’ll love 3, it finds a good medium between the two. A shame you missed out on multiplayer. It was so many people’s first online game which made the environment really interesting. Maybe consider halo reach but let the series die there.
