Fun fact: Originally, he was supossed to be called "Solid Sneak", a nickname given to him to subtly hint at his good sneaking skills. A typo made that into "Snake", and since the devs only realized this mistake during late development, Kojima decided to just keep it like that.

You don't actually do much stealth through levels, most of the time you're simply looting, figuring out navigation and solving puzzles. You don't think of Zelda as an action game just because it has some battles here and there, so Thief should be considered an adventure game too. Splinter Cell is actually Thief with a heavy focus on stealth and disposing of the rest.

>>12721068Yes. Thief Gold and Thief II addressed the fact that supposedly no one like bone hoard or ancient city. It does do exploartive adventure stuff too, but there is plenty of pure stealth in the games. And it's praised for it's stealth because it does it very well.
