Why did Uther think he could disobey a direct command from the royal heir?
>>12720024Uther is a paladin which means he serves a higher power than a Prince. You cant just command a paladin to break his oath to the light.
>>12720024Because it was to massacre civilians which would break his oath as a paladin
Am I supposed to think purging Stratholme was the wrong thing to do? It was literally the only logical choice to make.
>>12720024you've been reading too much mangakings had a lot of sons and they had no authority over the military unless the king officially delegated such authority to them
>>12720651No. The alternative was the people of Stratholme still dying and then killing even more in undeath. The purge is the correct decision if the goal is to preserve the most living humans. The real shitter here is Uther. He was outraged at the idea of killing the city but then walks away to let Arthas do it. Either the purge is right for ultimately saving a greater amount of human lives or the purge is wrong for the willfull killing of innocents and action needs to be taken to prevent Arthas from doing so. Walking away is either agreeing with Arthas but failing to help defend the greater kingdom or disagreeing with him and failing to defend the people of Stratholme from him.
>>12720807no, the correct decision would've been to cure everyone and then convince malganis to stop being evil
>>12720651>>12720807>>12720962You don’t understand how “Lawful Good” works. If there were not infected humans getting killed along with the infected, a goody two shows paladin wouldn’t be on board.
>>12720982he wouldn't be on board with curing everyone and redeeming the demon? you're weird!
purging only makes sense in hindsightthey didnt know the wacky high magic world azeroth would become
>>12720984>Arthas, if we kill the dread lord.. we’ll be as bad as he is
canonically he turns into a gay blue man
Arthas was right. Being a ruler means making difficult decisions. Uther would let people suffer than free their souls.
>listen uther, there's something about the plague you should knowarthas never actually tells uther what he was gonna say because he instantly spergs out right after this line about how the city has to be purged, uther was offscreen during literally every scene that explains why the undead are spreading.arthas is in the wrong for just trying to strongarm everyone into going with what he wants without stopping to think for 1s, which is shown again when he instantly grabs the obviously cursed sword under a vauge promise that it will help himuther is in the wrong for being clueless and stuck in his oldhead thinking (see also those two men he gets killed trying to parley with the orcs because he assumes based on his past experiences there's no way they wouldn't let them go)jaina is in the wrong for being a coward that just wants to study and just kind of avoids the problem for as long as possible
>>12723805>jaina is in the wrong for being a coward that just wants to study and just kind of avoids the problem for as long as possibleAlso all that orc cock
uhhh, time proved uther right? the undead are a vibrant and diverse people, how many of those that arthas slayed could've become productive and happy members of the horde?
>>12720651Reminder that despite all the gay new lore and retarded retcons, there still has never been a cure for undeath in WoW's lore. Every innocent stratholme citizen that Arthas killed was one less soul doomed to an eternal non-afterlife in super hell alongside every other living creature that gets their soul giga-raped by undeath, and that's a fact.
>>12723905I dunno why the image of arthas smiting the lil kid is so fucking funny
