Is this worth playing? Reviews are mostly bad and even the "good" ones say it's the worst in the classic Shining series but it looks kind of neat.

Also is there any reason to go with the Working Designs US release over the EUR one released by Sega? I can't imagine they would have two completely different translations but I read they changed some things in the WD one.
>>
Yes but you need a turbo controller.

Avoid WD like the plague, anon

Believe me, the best artwork of the game is what you just posted.

Apparently development started on the Genesis then moved to the 32X and then the Saturn. The CD image is only 95 MB, with most of that probably being the few FMVs they tacked on. But I can see the fucky development history being why the game feels so janky and controls like literal dog shit, but it's interesting to think it could have been on the 32X and probably would have been considered the best game on that system.

Shining Force had such soulful character art and sprite work. This mid-90s prerendered CG is absolute cancer by comparison. Having just played through Shining Force II, I cannot think of a bigger downgrade in a game series.
>>
I never beat it, it's just really bland.

>have to constantly tap the run button, forever
What were they thinking?

No play Linkly River Story instead. Shining Wisdom is one of the worst hack and slash have ever played. Right up there with the brave fencer musashi sequel.

The only reason I want to play it is because it's connected to the Shining Force series and I just played all of the SF games in timeline order up to this one.
I'm thinking about playing with guides or even hacks just to get through it faster but howlongtobeat says it's only 12 and a half hours and I could probably do that in a few days. The running mechanic is already testing my patience though after only 20 minutes.

This is me revving up to try to play this piece of shit. God give me the motivation.

You even played shining Force 3 all of the scenarios?
>>
>>12724960
I've played all of the earlier Shining Force games multiple times but never SF3. On my current run I'm playing them in order by timeline and Shining Wisdom comes before SF3 so i have to get past it first.
Yes, I'm a timeline autist.
>>
No, it's bad. It's a junk game. I got it for free with my Saturn and I played it for a few minutes and I'll never touch it again.

Why is he wearing a skirt
>>
>>12722481
No, I'm afraid it's not worth playing. It's an offensively generic ARPG without a single hook to grab or maintain your interest.

Looks okay? What's the problem

You need an overlay of the input to truly understand the pain.
