Do we know how many games were spawned from RE4?>Devil May Cry>Haunting Ground>PN03>Dead Rising Wii uses modified version of the Resident Evil 4 Wii engineBioHazard 4 Secret DVDhttps://youtu.be/1-6jbZmoblA?si=XKMRjvxMiG281mNkSome other odd stuff in the RE4 code>RE4 engine was shared with a bunch of Capcom early-00 titles, P.N.03 & Haunting Ground both seem to use similar rXXX / EmXX / EspXX names, and God Hand (Clover Studio) also seems to share similarities too>recreated/emulated PS1 bios calls>recreated/emulated gamecube GX graphics calls (HD editions and later are all still coded for gamecube/wii GX graphics API, but use a layer that changes them into D3D/etc)>tons of code has extra states/branches that are never used in retail game (eg. different arcs coded in for thrown objects but release game only ever picks a single one, anim states for enemies that go unused from the beta versions)>UHD edition accidentally included a couple beta RE5 maps that run on RE4 engine, dated around the time of RE4 PS2 port (so ~4 years before RE5 release)>UHD also includes code/model for REmake tyrant, which can actually be spawned/fought with a 6 byte EXE patch
>>12725081Clock Tower 3 had the same menu sound effects used in RE4
>>12725081You missed the other obvious one being Onimusha. Or is my memory conflating it with Devil may Cry?
>>12725081>beta RE5 maps that run on RE4 engineNever heard of that, any footage of them?
>>12725081DMC is 3.5 years older than RE4
>>12725658Yeah, DMC didn't spawn from RE4 in that sense, but it was originally intended to be RE4 early on. It was too different from what RE was supposed to be though so they reworked it into its own game.
>>12725689Hm... Fair enough then.
