Im about to play the original Final Fantasy VII from PS1 i havent played this game before or the Remake but i have played other JRPGs has this game aged well? is it overrated? or is it really worth all the hype?

>>12727718No old JRPGs have aged perfectly but if you can get into it anyway overlook the flaws it's still a solid ass game. One of the best of the era despite the overhype.

>>12727718It's a game so huge in its time and so influential that for anybody who grew up with the games that came afterwards there's essentially nothing of substance to gain from playing it now for the first time. Whether you consider that a fault of the game doesn't really matter; given how you phrase your op I'd say it's a safe bet that you'll be "disappointed", so you may want to skip it.
