The SNES version looks good but don't know if it's worth playing. Also, DQ thread
>>12727719Original releases whenever possible, which should be always.
>>12727719The NES version has graphical improvements over the famicom version and can save instead of relying on passwords.
if the original was good enough to get a remake then you should just play the original...
Original on Famicom for the original experience that started the phenomenon.SFC and GBC remakes for replays.I still haven't played the NES one, but I didn't like the sprite changes, even if they added the different facing directions (btw choosing the direction from the menu was soulful)
>>12727719GBC is the best, Snes is buggy, Nes/Famicom ugly even for a gen 3 game
>>12727893nes version bleeds sovl, fuck you talking about
>>12727915The only thing bleeding are my eyes, really
NES (and presumably Famicom) version has the best-looking monsters across all Dragon Quest games ever - all versions, all platforms.
I like the NES versions best, but that's what I grew up with so I'm biased. Really they are all pretty good and fun to play.
>>12727719>which version is the best?Theres only one version, the other games are different games. The SNES version cant compare to the original because its lead a different life. If you play a port you cant say you played the original so if you want to play the original theres no choice.
>>12727742fippity bippity>>12727719The SNES versions of 1 and 2 jack with the difficulty. I won't say they're bad but just play the originals unless you absolutely hate a bit of extra grind. Also the English translation has a few serious bugs in DQ2. Play the originals
>>12727759Not only that but since the famicom version doesn't have your character facing any direction when moving you have an extra menu to specify what direction you are supposed to talk in.
The Dragon Quest+ fan remake is great imo
Dragon Warrior 1 & 2 on the GBC was what I grew up with, therefore it is the best version.
