So when does it gets good?
>>12727981Switching to the proper SNES version is a first step. Past that, if you're not sold by the time you hit the Dark World, you're better off stopping.
>>12727981Not every game is for everyone, Jamal.
>>12727987Pretty much this. If you don't like it within the first hour or two you probably never will. Don't be like me and waste time making repeated attempts to figure out why it gets so much praise. Just move on, you'll thank me.
>>12727981Just like OOT, after the 3 opening dungeons.
>>12727987>play the version with less content No thanks
>>12727981it will never be good because you are fundamentally insensitive to quality
there's people who like pac man world 2 but hate zelda. i don't know how their brain works.
>>12728014The content that's walled behind multiplayer isn't worth it.
>>12727981It stopped being good in the 90s
am I filtered because I think that pushing stones in every direction to unlock doors and shit is dumbit's just that when I look it up and see that was the solution I feel nothing except wasted time wondering how I didn't push in that direction already
>>12728035the obscurity IS the challenge. people accepted it because thats what people thought an ancient ruins secret would be like. like the pressure plates in indiana jones. you dont see that something is interactable right away, but if you feel around and search, you might find something hidden. its what made the dungeon exploring more "real". everything else pretty much just the shrine of the silver monkey: you can see all of the pieces, and you basically have to be retarded to not be able to figure out how to put them together. by blending the two, you create challenge and frustration in the player by making them reliant on the silver monkey, thinking "wtf why cant i progress? what am i missing? i HAVE to be missing SOMETHING" so then they must actually search for hidden things. if EVERYTHING is hidden, then its too obvious where the "hidden" thing is (like bombable walls in zelda 1). now, you dont have to LIKE that, but im just explaining why they did it and why some people DO like it.
>>12727981Right when you hit the power button, you damn dirty zoomer!
>>12727981If you don't already like the game you probably won't be super impressed by it later on. It's not an awful game but it probably the most oversold Zelda in terms of it having this status as an undisputed classic that should always be recommended as part of the top tier along with the other greats. It did advance the series by progressing what it could be over the NES games and establishes a number of what are now core aspects, and I respect that, but I don't think it even actually stands up as well as a stand alone game as its predecessors do, let alone the games that came after that outright improved on the things it introduced.
>>12728035Where were you trying to push stones?
>>12728001Nah, the intro dungeons in alttp are decent, and if they are too easy for you, you'll blow through them in no time. In OoT the first 3 dungeons and all the lame quests and minigames you have to do in-between are agonizingly tedious.
