The versions are almost 1:1. Which one is better though?

>>12728158>The versions are almost 1:1You clearly have not played them.
GBA simply because the western Sega version is so badly trannylated
>>12728202I have, the differences I noticed were mainly graphical + the script. The gameplay was pretty close and the maps were the same. I did get further in the Genesis version though
>>12728158Genesis.... There isn't a single GBA port that is better than the original. Even in the case if they add extra content it's not worth the graphical and audio hit.
I like the pick up and play feel of handheld consoles. Very home-y
>>12728158Doesn't the GBA have new difficulty modes, getting harder every time you clear it?
>>12728158GBA has more content
>>12728158Genesis music sounds better
>>12728158I didn't like some of the stat changes they made in the GBA version. Some of the best characters were nerfed, particularly the magic users, which throws off the whole flow of the battles. For all of its quirks and deficiencies, the Genesis version feels much more balanced.
>>12728158Not to threadjack but since this is the current Shining Force thread, what do you guys think of the theory that the Mishaela fight in SF1 was really just one of her dolls? It seems like they were trying to hint at that in Final Conflict with her false defeat that turned out to be one of her dolls..
