You know what I mean. Games that don't feel like. Like you would think by looking at them they're just some made-up joke, but no, somehow they're real.
Like this N64 collectathon based on Blues Brothers 2000.
>>
narc arcade feels like a fake game made for the robocop movie
>>
>>12743109
For me is how the game overall keeps themself grounded and then the final boss is a giant worm.
>>
>>12743101
This one really made me question reality for a moment when I first ran across it

Bio Force Ape is a classic example of this
Technically it never released officially but it was created in all of it's bizarre glory

I remember thinking that Eastern Mind was just an elaborate shitpost someone made to make fun of how "weird and quirky" Japanese people are. Turns out it was made by the same artist as LSD dream emulator.

Wasn't this specific cutscene you posted made-up tho?

Why this isn't a basketball game is beyond me. Was Shaq a fan of Street Fighter or something?

It's not that weird. The movie came out. I think Titus still had the license from when they made the previous Blues Brothers game. It was very much a cranked out fast kind of game (it's Titus).

Actually not that bad of a game, for what it's worth. If for some reason you're tired of playing Mario 64, Banjo, Rayman 2, Bomberman Hero and so forth. It's there. It exists. I did used to play this game as a kid.

I don't follow, it's just an original IP with a zany idea about robot animals.
The humour is entirely British and vibes with British kids shows, too.

>An arcade shooter where the players play as Michael Jackson shooting kamehamehas at everything
>The other players are Michael Jackson palette swaps
>Micheal turns into a mecha if he touches Bubbles the chimp
>You get points for touching kids and every level ends with the kids you saved running towards Micheal as he pulls open his jacket
This one definitely has that parody feel.
>>12743156
What is even weirder is that the first couple levels are Tim fighting dinosaurs with his tools. That makes it seem even more like a Simpsons joke about licensed games.
>>
>>12743284

I dig the concept of games about real life celebrities getting into some fantastical stuff. Like not celebrities portraying some fictional characters, just them being themself in games. Any more games like this?

>>
>>12743820
Found some info on the Duke Nukem wiki and it seems like the legality on this backport is fucking wack, and it's like a "he said, she said it's 5% Official, but probably not really, but who cares lel Brazil" kinda thing.
Funny regardless.
>>

I don't know, the game is already wack with the crazy premise and ultra violent main characters. I love it.

zombies ate my neighbors is so extremely on the nose in the way games typically aren't. there's usually some odd wrinkle or omission that separates a game from a generic public domain idea but zombies is that to a tee. rad suburban kids fighting the gamut of b movie classic horror monsters with childhood toys.

>>
>>12744275
But you can't do anything with it. You can take them over to a friend's house who also has a copy of the music generation software and play them on it, but you can never actually save the music you generate with the music generation software.
Its like if someone made tax filing software for the ps1 and all you could do was save it to your memory card as if that would accomplish anything

It was designed for the American market because they saw beat 'em ups and multiplayer games were doing well there- the whole animal thing wasn't added in until later. Hiroshi Tsujino aka Onijust had just gone over to Taito of America and he was the one in charge of coordinating everything. They talked about it on Hamster's stream when they released it as part of Arcade Archives, and they showed a bunch of development stuff as they usually do.

Just an odd brand to put on a video game. Especial since it's not full-on pornographic game. From the little I know about it, it funnily does feel like an attempt to sell Sims to male demographic because of the similar gameplay but with added quests and spicier sex scenes.
>>
>>12743101
Cho Aniki
>>
>>12743157
It ran in heavy syndication in the late 80s and regained enough popularity that the original actors did some TV interviews and other stuff around then. I was a big fan even though I was really young. 1990 sounds about right for that game to come out and capitalize on the renewed interest.
>>
>>12743189
This game had a promotion with Upper Deck (trading card company) that put a cardboard sheet ad in game magazines with a cut-out Jordan card that you couldn't get anywhere else. They sell for a decent price on ebay if you have one in good condition.
>>
>>12743189
I actually thought this was kind of decent for a licensed platformer. It's not like that's a high bar, but I enjoyed it.
>>
Sometimes I'll play a shitty game and it looks like a background gag for a sitcom
>>
>>12744643

The nes was a weird era for licensed games, Fester's Quest was based on the old sitcom and not the 90s Addams Family movie, Jaws, there was three stooges as someone else mentioned. None of these felt of the time.

As (>>12743584) said Jackie Chan got a couple, mostly based on his films, but titles where he's himself? I recall the arcade Jackie Chan: Kung Fu Master - Fists of Fire and the PS1 title Jackie Chan: Stuntmaster and they're both an excellent time.

This was called Music 2000 in Europe. I didn't have it but I "played" a ton of its predecessor simply called Music which was EU exclusive. It was technically my first experience with a DAW and it was just cool to be able to MAKE MUSIC on my PS1 as a dumb ass kid, especially with the daft video effects.
I still have recordings of a couple of the tracks I made with it way back when kicking about.
